Yuki, in what's probably a rare moment of clarity, is pretty aware that charging in this instance will just get her cut the heck up and that is a Very Bad Thing since she's the only one who can heal. And seeing as how everybody is hurt, that is a big thing. So, rather than charge forth screaming like a maniac, she raises her chainsaw in the air and shouts again - people's wounds start to close, and they are shielded - ready to continue the fight. She of course does this before Noriko charges in.

Yoake coughed. Coughed and hacked as she stood up, wincing at the pain. This was not a good time for her.

Not seeing any use of fighting again until she's healed, or has a more open shot, Yoake simply stays behind Minato and tries to keep as safe as possible.

Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)
[Now Playing: Brothers in Arms]

Yuki's weapon glows blue and pillars of light rise from the party, soothing their wounds and filling them with renewed vigor. Lord knew Noriko would it, and as she muttered her request, a voice answers her "Oh please you haven't paid your rent yet, so you better come back alive!"

As she dashes forth, propelled by supernatural winds, she could see Faith and Minato erecting their bulwarks, she could see Yoake and Shef getting back on their feet, and she could see the whirlwind she was charging into.

It may not be particularly but there was no clear path through, no gap which would allow her to path through unscathed. She charges forth regardless, her spear streaking through the arcing discharges, followed by the girl herself. The impact was weak, anaemic even before the shield blunted it further, but it becomes apparent that Jason had not used it for power. Rather, as Noriko finds herself momentarily paralyzed as the current courses through her body, dealing little damage but rendering it impossible to charge her course in time as the false god sidesteps her assault and as she passes, she finds the barrel of his revolver mere inches from her head.

There is a blur of motion and then a crash.

Buried into the arena was one of the great executioner's swords, now fading to naught. It had come from a portal above aimed as to skewer her quarry before he could pull the trigger, forcing him to dodge. Calling her spear back into her grasp, she launches herself again, slamming into Jason spear-first, the tip just barely missing his mask - parried by machete. He sweeps the weapon low for a counterattack only to meet the shaft of spear, the weapons clashing swiftly in a brief but violent exchange.

It is quickly apparent that Jason is making no attempt to bypass Noriko's defences, rather he is attacking her head-on, striking with such force that each clash forces the girl further and further on the defensive. If this continues, he will soon crush her guard.

The three remaining swords shatter like glass as if having struck an invisible barrier, their shards sent flying back towards the arena, towards Jason, towards Noriko as a relatively slow swarm of electrified metal. It'd be fairly dense covering fire normally, but here it's a lot sparser than it ought to be courtesy of Shef.

Should Noriko fails to disengage: Jason will attempt to overpower her and strike her with a series of slashes, terminating with a wide and dense spread of weak, slow moving arcs and more intense, but similarly slow homing ball of lightning regardless of whether or not he lands the slashes.

If Noriko does back away however, he will fire another set of executioner's swords upwards, and the ball lightning forwards. His body will briefly flare with St Elmo's fire and he will make a series of rapid unpredictable dashes that propels him towards Yoake, for a powerful spinning slash that rends itself into the air causing it to persist for a moment and striking everything around him. A powerful attack with quite a bit of reach, but one that will leave him vulnerable to attack for a while after its execution. To cover this, he will also be timing it such that the shard barrage arrives just before him, such that attempts to exploit his moment of vulnerability will be disrupted by the electrified metal.

This was a tough situation. He had more raw power than Noriko had to offer, but if she disengaged she'd be right back where she started. She'd have to get fancy to get out of this. She shoved her spear forward, aiming to have the weapon clash with the Aramitama's; however, she herself started to dash around the creature, aiming to land a solid kick to his back in an effort to disrupt his actions and give her a chance to pull her spear back toward Jason's chest.

Yoake grits her teeth. The healing helped, but she had still sustained some damage. In the blink of an eye she has grabbed Minato, and leaped over to the battlefield with Jason.

She follows this up with a standard butt defense, slowly making her way in to slam Jason.

The Aramitama was distracted for the moment, with a focus entirely on Noriko. Perhaps it was a little selfish, but Shef took this moment simply as a breather. God knows he needed it. And anyway, it would simply be more effective in the long run if he let himself catch his breath, and recover a tiny bit.

Shef sits around resting using an alteration to a 2. Give Minato 1 Resolve.

Minato, meanwhile, makes several mental calculations as he gets hurled towards the fight.

If this was the Aramitama that they'd been chasing, then he'd know about Rho Aias. Rho Aias was relatively easy to get past; just go around it. This was part of the reason Minato had mastered the art of getting in the way shortly before the projectile hit; no time to evade the shield, no way of protecting against it.

This Aramitama was deadly and fast, almost blindingly so. It'd go too quick for Minato to just pull his usual 'get in the way shortly before' stunt, and it had enough projectiles that defending from one direction was untenable, not without enough shields. And taking him face on was also untenable; Minato had skill and power on his side, but this Aramitama was deft and faster. It would be like a stone wall fighting a hurricane.

So time to even the odds.

The Aramitama would know Rho Aias and expect it, possibly even attempt to pierce it. Good enough. Perfect. That would place him right on level with Aegis.

Aegis; the shield of Zeus himself, second only to Rho Aias in the world. Tough enough, should his plan backfire, to take a blow. Of course, that wasn't why he was using it; that would be the face of the Gorgon branded directly into the middle of the shield. Gorgons were fearsome creatures, known for slaying people with a glance by turning them to stone, so much so that even their severed heads contained such power.

Their visage, embossed into the shield, possessed weaker power, merely paralysing those who saw it in fear rather than turning them to stone. Here, that would be enough.

Minato arranges himself to launch between Jason and Noriko, summoning Aegis through True Regalia Replication to stun Jason through supernaturally induced fear. If Jason begins to avert his eyes, use your superior melee speed to smash it into his head and stagger him instead.

Genuinely trembling a little bit by this point, Faith looked at the blindingly quick action in front of her, and raising a shaking arm the American girl waited for a moment that she thought looked opportune, then with a stammering "F-Freedom Beam!"
Freedom Beam Jason when he's doing the attack with the slow arcs, using the leftmost 4 and rightmost 5 w/ an alteration

Yuki heals up Noriko to give her a shield - she seems to be the most threatened right now, she'll heal Yoake and Shef later if she can - and then decides to take advantage of all the stuns. After the beams and stuns and all that, Yuki was ready to f-ing chainsaw this boss fight.

Alteration to rightmost 6, heal Noriko (I've only got one 4 left, guess which I'm using? :P ), ATTACK (at the right time so I don't get shanked or friendly fired)

Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)
[Now Playing: Brothers in Arms]

Noriko clashes one last time, her weapon flying out her grasp amidst an explosion of light and the Aramitama thrusts. It thrusts hard, it thrusts fast, it thrusts with far more technical skill and finesse than it had displayed in the clash before, but joke's on it because Noriko ain't there. She's behind him, bringing her heel against his spine and her spear through its chest. Which is great and all, but, well, remember the swarm of electrified metal heading your way? Yeah, you're getting zapped by it right now. And again it doesn't hurt too much but it's got quite a bit of hitstun on it.

Before Jason can capitalize on this opportunity however a beam crashes through the swarm. Real talk, it's a pretty shitty beam, at least compared to what Faith's done before, and having to blast away all the metal in the way does not help, but considering that Faith's fighting style is basically a unix tool, albeit with less orgies of one-liners than Minato would be hoping for... it's still not exactly a weak bitch beam either, and as Jason dashes back to avoid it, something, or rather someone, crashes down between him and Noriko.

Take goatse, multiply by 2girls1cup, and raise to the power of cancer. That should give you some idea of just what he now finds himself staring at. A mug so damn ugly it turns people to stone. He freezes, shuddering and struggling as his body locks up, veins of stone beginning to trace across his mask and onto his body. A speeding butt slams into his side, a chainsaw cleaves down from his shoulder, Yoake and Yuki's attacks finding their mark.

He shudders more and more as the onslaught continues, and then the world around him flares with burning shadows. He thunders forwards, breaking free for an instant and bringing his blade upwards in a ferocious uppercut at Minato, aiming to force his shield upwards. He's probably going to try and destroy or remove the shield and blast the entire area in one fell swoop.

The world returns to that of the shrine-turned-scaffolds and the last vestiges of the metal swarm continue slowly flying forwards, with Minato, Yuki, Noriko, and Yoake in their path.

Still aching--he would be for a while--Shef remained on the ground, gun at the ready. There was no way he could risk shooting at the Aramitama while his allies remained so close. Even if he was fairly certain that his portal shot could weave its way through far more complex scenarios, he didn't want to take even the minuscule risk of having to explain to Winter why he had shot Minato in the back or something. So, he directed his attentions to the glinting swarm of metal that slowly approached the Aramitama's assailants.

Create a portal to redirect the swarm of shards directly into the ground. Hopefully they'll get stuck in the dirt or something, but if they don't, it should still buy valuable time. Alteration to use a 6.

The landing succeeded, and so did Yoake's attack. However, he was still standing, and the electric metal was flying towards them. Thinking fast, Yoake maneuvers around Shefs portal, and spins into an attack...

Vacuum Butt Cannon, aimed directly at Jason.

"Alright, let's take this home!" Noriko tried to muster as much confidence as she could with her voice, but her expression betrayed her true thoughts; she was tiring, and fast. She probably only had one more decent shot in her. She kicked herself upward into the air, pulling her spear upward to her. The weapon grew in size as she did so, and she angled it downward, preparing to more or less smash it downward with as much force as she could muster after the bastard tried to dodge Yoake's own attack. After that, she'd do the best she could to blow away the shrapnel headed her direction.

Faith took a deep breath in, and then a deep breath out. Alright... alright... everything was going better now. She was fine, everyone was fine. So she could calm down and get to helping out already! Faith wasn't in any danger at the moment, either, so she had no reason to hold back -- instead she would do the most she could to keep Minato from soaking the hit she could see he was about to take. She raised her hand and blasted off yet another beam at Jason!
Blast the Aramitama with yet another beam, trying to hit before he can hit Minato! Alteration to 5.

And now the sword from below.

Minato saw this coming. Indeed, it generally tended to be the case with these Aramitama that they would try to break his shields; his shields, after all, were his greatest asset. Swords, spears, hammers he could summon to a fight, but most Aramitama could hit harder than anything Minato could bring out, bar him bringing out something like True Durandal or True Excalibur. But his shields were unrivalled, drawn from the very fabric of myth and capable of withstanding the very wrath of Heaven itself.

So Aramitama, after figuring out he had shields, usually tried to break their way past them. But he'd learned.

Out from the corner of his eye, he could see Faith readying up a beam and Yoake preparing another attack. As for Jason, he was quick, but with quickness came the issue of inertia. He could hit hard and hit quick, but if his target moved, even with his supernatural movement it'd take him a few precious seconds to change course.

Minato knew he'd be outsped in a test of speed, but not in a test of agility; the armor slowed him down in a sprint, but he was very, very nimble at such close range, and knew how to fight well enough.  He didn't need to step out of Jason's way; he just needed Jason open for a few short seconds.

Time to pull a page from good old Son Goku's book. Or rather, his staff.

Minato attempts to move backwards just enough to evade Jason's blow or force it to clip his shield instead of taking the full brunt of the impact, then summon Ruyi Jingu Bang, Wukong's extending staff, extending it into Jason's body, which should be exposed from his uppercut attempt, to shove him directly into Yoake and Faith's line of fire.
