"Long story short, our division is concerned with hunting down some of Foundry's fuck ups. Turns out when you try to extract things from Akasha, what comes out ain't always what you want. Artificial Anomalies they call 'em.
Our quarries.

This time around was a routine mission, which is to a it was a fuck up like all the rest. We had pinned down the Target Fifteen's whereabouts to an office in the east of Tokyo. It was supposed to be a simple assault mission, supposed to be. Turns out it was an ambush. Maki and Akiyama went in, fought their way through, and breached the Sanctuary. But the Fifteen bastard wasn't there on the other side, oh no the Sanctuary extended a hell of a lot further than it should have, they must've hid it from our sensors somehow, and while Maki and Akiyama were kitted out for CQB in that chamber, Fifteen was about half a click away with a sniper rifle. Not a fun time. So Maki got shot in the chest, his Ophanim" he gestures to his own coat, the material seemingly flexing on its own "took the brunt of it, but his vitals started dropping anyway, looked like a was having a heart attack or something. Akiyama tried to close in but, then just, stopped. Just collapsed and started to screaming, Diagnostics says it's some kind of psychic attack.

So we're two down and outranged, needed something that could hit Fifteen hard and far on out. We had something that could do that. A bullet. Single use. Expensive as all hell. They called it a Longinus Round, handed me a gun, handed me the bullet, told me to not miss, no pressure. So I ran in there expecting about two corpses and a lot of suppressive fire, but I dunno, Fifteen just sort if stood there. Maybe it thought it could take the shot, maybe it was glitching out, some AAs do that. Don't know, don't care. Shot that bastard through the chest and that was the end of that.

Maki's in the infirm, we're keeping Akiyama at the facility on watch, just in case, and if it happens again any time soon, we're not going to have another round ready for it. Typical."

[Twinwolf]

Yuki's immediate dead-on guess immediately gets Faith sputtering in shock, and it's a few seconds before Faith manages an actual response. "I, uh, wow, uh, I, I guess you actually could guess. But yeah, he did! Oh man, this is so crazy, I really wasn't prepared for this, but now that it's actually happened it's really exciting!"

"Now as a big sister, I'm supposed to tell you to be careful around boys..." Yuki says, looking grimly serious. "And Minato's a big perv. Buuuuut I know him soooo I'll let this slide. Good luck~!" Yuki says, grinning at her sister.

Noriko walked past Yuki and Faith just in time to hear this last line on her way around the floor of the cafe; it didn't take the girl very long to put two and two together, and not long after that the stormclouds formed on her expression as she shot a hard glare in Faith's direction, broken only so she could glare behind herself at Minato.

[Strider03]

"Sounds like one hell of a time. Anyway, it's called the Longinus, eh?" Shef gave a slightly wicked smile. "Tell me a bit more about these, if you will. I have a vested interest in exotic firearms. Haven't used anything bigger than a handgun in a few months, but I'm not averse to some of the heavier ordinance." Who knew how much could really be discussed in a bar, but Shef was certain interested. "How do these Longinus Rounds work? And what type of prices are we talking about?"

Yoake's eyes open so wide it's a wonder they remain in her skull.
"WHAAAAAAAT? OH OH WE GOTTA GET YOU TO MEET MY FRIENDS! OH OH OKAY CLASS DISMISSED EVERYONE HAVE A NICE DAY!"
Yoake grabs the woman's hand, bursting out of the dojo and towards the Sanctuary.

"Ehe, yeah, well..." Faith trailed off when Noriko walked past, but it was too late -- when it became abundantly clear that Noriko heard her, Faith looked at her with a bit of alarm... and Faith did not miss the furious glare shot her way, the alarm in her expression being doubled and augmented with confusion as she stared back at Noriko.

[Chevaleresse]

Noriko just continues on her way after a moment, shaking her head and saying something unintelligible under her breath as she heads into the back to talk to a manager.

"Like a bullet. Seems to hit a lot harder, and it pierced Fifteen's defences without much trouble. Not much of a chance getting any though, we only had one and god knows how long till they'll be making another one. If it's exotics you want, there's more options available easier to obtain, isn't that right Rosario?"
"Well, did you have anything in mind Shef?'

Yoake
"Huh? Where are you taking me?"
You basically just drag the protesting shrine maiden all the way to the Sanctuary.

[Strider03]

"Oh, plenty. Nothing specific though. I don't have any targets that would need something specific. Might be nice to have some less than lethal options on hand. But that can be done without exotics, just getting rubber bullets and the like. As far as more unusual stuff goes, you know anything that would work well with portals?"

[spümpkin]

Yoake is now grinning madly at the shrine maiden.

"To meet my friends, of course! This is our Sanctuary, and our base of operations!
But... it seems like they're not here. Hmm... Oh, they might be at the cafe!"

Yoake begins dragging the maiden again, this time to the cafe.

"What kinda portal we talkin' bout?"
"Personal. Range limited to near-caster. Teleporting bullets requires a great deal of focus."
"So, that makes you his handler then. Hmph,haven't dealt with portals. Might be able make those portals point elsewhere, depends on how they work. You'd need someone well versed in the eldritch or some shit like that's though, me? I'm just a cop. Any thoughts Rosario?"
"Hmm yes. Wound-cursing rounds. Overpenetration enhancement. Not gonna be easy to come by, but it should let your tracer shots repeatedly strike your foe before exploding, the wounds would then automatically move towards vital organs. Won't be too effective against hard or armored targets though, not going to have them in a stable supply or large quantities either. Might be able to make some blood bullets, make a handful that act as temporary relays for your magic, extend your range. Depends in what you want though, could get some that are only good before impact, if you can time it well. Could have far fewer that persist for a bit. Tickle your fancy?"

You continue just dragging Aiko all over town and into the cafe. Looks like everyone's here but Shef. Minato's sporting the expression of someone who mistook a meat mincer for a glory hole, Faith looks like she just walked in on her parents running a meth lab, and Yuki well, Yuki.

"Hey Minato, long time no see... wait why's Freida here?" She gestures towards the little girl dressed in purple.

[Strider03]

"Hmm, certainly. This all sounds good. As far as the relays go, I'd prefer ones that aren't limited to before impact. At middling range, it probably wouldn't be enough time for me. And if I need to choose between the cursed rounds or overpenetration enhancement, I'd go with the latter." Shef smiled a bit. He'd always fancied the more exotic munitions, but he'd never really done much with them in the area of magic. He just didn't really have the knowledge of how to make this stuff. Might have to talk to Tsukasa? Shef put that thought aside for now. Maybe there would be someone else who would have that type of knowledge. "So you're a cop? Working with the awakened world? Are you one--awakened--yourself then?"

"I can get in touch with some of my contacts if you want the cursed overpenetration rounds, it's going to have to by order though. Relay rounds would require visiting a clinic or related facility, could give Eisenberg a shot. The portal fuckery sounds like you'll need a specialist, may have to find your own since they'll need to assess your magic anyway."
"Close enough to one, as for what I am, that's hard to say. The Chief tried to bring his wife back and instead he got stuck with me, or I guess I got stuck with him."

Yoake is confused again, a pure look of shock on her face. "WHAAAAAAT? YOU KNOW MINATO? HOW MANY MYSTERIES CAN YOU HOLD INSIDE YOUR SMALL FRAME?!"
Yoake energetically gestures up and down while shouting.

"Well yes, I've ran into him while working before, we're operating in the same area after all. I see that you're acquainted with him as well?"
