Go on the defensive. Activate Rho Aias once more, placing it between Minato's mech and the beam. Cover Noriko's inevitable approach, trusting Yuki and Yoake to deal with themselves for the moment if they get too close. Assign five tendrils to deflect as many attacks as possible to maintain Minato's mech and protect himself and Noriko, use the rest to stop the bear from taking Yuki's provisions.

Noriko angrily shoves her Heavy Explosive augment in, then smashes a spear into Stalin before detonating it on impact. She uses her other two spears to cover herself and attempt to deflect the beams again.

If Faith wasn't distracted by Yuki and whatever else would be going on at the end of the battle, she might have questions about the "bullmoose" line (another thing that was pinging off her mind but that she couldn't quite recall), but for now she was just, well, in a magical frenzy of horrible emotions and misery and currently throwing a pair of bolas made of the feeling of being trapped at Stalin to keep the fucker from getting away.
Faith uses No Way Out on Stalin! Alteration to a 6.

Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)

[Now Playing: A Mighty Power]

A bullet slams into Yuki's chest, and for a moment, she no longer had control of her own body, perhaps not even her own mind either. There was something there, some strange foreign instinct, some influence, some voice of reason screaming to her. And even if she herself could resist, her body did not.The girl threw her burning body at the ground as her her magic focused on the curse, working to shatter it as her dive-turned-roll snuffed the flames. Behind her beam and bullet crash into Satoshi, blood now staining her vestments. She could've blocked, she could've turned her scarf into a shield, but that was worth more than her flesh. Flesh heals, fabric does not, and between a finite option and a replenishing resource, the choice was obvious. Standing tall, flag planted, she drew her revolver and emptied its chambers. Her wounds did not heal, but their meaning, their bleeding, it all ceased to exist.

The Man of Steel's assault continued to pound against Minato's defenses. Five tendrils are destroyed. Only two take their place. But Rho Aias holds still, battered but whole. He had failed Noriko last time, neglected her. That will not happen again. He lunges forwards shield first blocking his counterattack, and Noriko follow from behind unraveling her enchantment and bringing it into a spear. The weapon slams into the Aramitama's chest. He catches it of course, but that just means she could blow off some of those damn shadow limbs while she was at it.

Yoake had no shield, but she did have a mech. Fat load of good it did. Couldn't even handle a parry. The design may work for the military, but it needs more work to be worthy of Keijo. She ejects. The mech was utterly mundane. It could hold to an extent, but between the lasers and bullets it'd be close. But when has that ever stopped her? If she could still pump energy in she was certain it'd work, but she couldn't, could she? The answer came soon enough, passive observations deep in her subconscious connecting, combining. Her instincts, intuition, were excellent as always. She didn't know it, but there was already a name for what she did. Reinforcement. The mark of a fully fledged Godslayer. Magic that asserts the existence of the mundane. When the explosions and smoke clear, the mech is still functional, albeit heavily damaged, and more importantly, slamming straight into the Man of Steel.

The explosion blows off the frontal shadow limbs, sets off the mech's ammunition supply, and tears deep rifts into the Aramitama's torso. A bullet had managed to glance off his right shoulder, six more, bewitched with kinetic amplification had flattened against his body. And left arm had been severed too, bound by crackling purple restraints. It is doubtful that he expected the explosion or the mech. It is doubtful he knew what Faith's attack would do. But he had still see in in all the commotion, and thought quickly enough to intercept it, with his own severed arm.

He dashes up into the air, the stump of his right arm sparking with electricity. And as he does, Faith is probably a little thankful - he disengaged rather than standing his ground, pretty good for her considering it she uh, kinda sorta threw herself with that bolo. Not too sure how it happened, it's honestly a bit of a blur, but yeah. Still, if that arm is only sparky does that mean he can he not replace it with shadows? Does only flesh part of him regenerate? More problematic however is his left arm, or rather, what is now within the maw of the beast: three healing potions, and two accuracy boosters. It is doubtful he can use Ren's items, but those potions should be quite standard.

"I see... you still have aces up your sleeves."

He begins to descend, quickly at that. Guess he can't fly for long.

"But, so do I."

[Now Playing: Fatality]

He gestures and in dead silence, a great rift begins to form behind, looking looking almost like a new horizon. A great wound in reality, from which a tsunami of blood begins to crash forwards.

On a good day, how many people can you kill? Normal people, civilians, soldiers? One hundred? One thousand? One million? How about forty million? Because that is what you are facing now. Forty million corpses precipitating from a tidal wave of blood. An enormous wave, several stories tall from which rifle-brandishing corpses emerge. Some old, some young, some fit, some little more than skin and bones, all unified by one thing: the fact that they don't have bullets.

The wave crashes inwards from the arc-shaped rift. Somewhere in its midst is your target, and you, are going to need to cut your way through. I daresay, this shouldn't be a problem for you.

A towering wave of blood and flesh, of death and misery, a wave that somehow radiated scarcity despite being composed of so many corpses, so unimaginably many that they stopped being individual zombies and became in a way a whole, a single collective. A horizon, a side of the world practically, stories tall, a wave so large that in the end Faith could not comprehend it all and her mind, rather than break, defaulted to fear of her large, unknown enemy, especially with the magic ravaging her emotions.

Faith whimpered, a high-pitched noise of terror that was barely audible but that was, and she started to tremble like a leaf as she beheld the zombies. If she didn’t do something, she’d die. If she didn’t do something, she told herself, she’d die. She had to... she had to...! She had to find a way to take out her opponent before this unimaginably large wave reached them. But first she had to know where he was, and her rank terror at the thought of being unable to do so before she died added to her fear, coalesced with it...

And suddenly she could feel that knot of her own vitriolic insecurities and worry, the weakening magic she had laced the Aramitama’s body with, and she could feel exactly where it was. She lifted a shaky arm, and pointed at one place in the tidal wave of undead, tears running down her face (pale as a sheet) faster now as she stated a: ”Th-there... he’s right there... I can feel h-him, he’s— he’s there...”

Faith burns her last resolve in order to detect Stalin’s location by the Piercing Insecurities effect still on him! Burn a 3!

That was pretty overwhelming, simply in terms of shear numbers. There had to be millions here, more than they could possibly kill in any reasonable amount of time. They had to get to Stalin in the center, and hopefully that would dismiss the army. But he had nothing really to do that which. Faith had pinpointed him, but there were still enough bodies that Shef worried his overpenetrator round might not make it.

Even if it did so, it would be far less useful if someone else couldn't take advantage of the pressure it created. So, he focused on his requiem, forcing it on all the zombies he could see. A continuous stream of spoken command and ideas, amounting to two ideas: Move, out of the way. Force yourself aside. And, fear your neighbor, turn on them, kill them to save yourself.

A paranoia, and a justified one. Shef knew paranoia, and he knew how to make it stick. That subtle dread that your neighbors might think the way you do, but with just a shred more bravery and cunning, and just a little less fear. And these people, they should know the paranoia too. Food shortages: who would break first, and turn to take from the meager stores of a neighbor? Politics: who would be the first to mention the statements you made when drunk to the MGB, in hopes of some small reward, getting you shipped off to the Gulag? And there were so many other small day to day things to fear.

Shef uses his requiem to attempt to make the zombie horde open in a path towards Stalin, and to make them turn on one another when they're out of the way around Stalin. Alter to 6, burn a 2.

"You think that's going to save you? Think again, asshole!" Noriko held up one hand much as she had before, miming the motion that she made to throw her spears. This time, though, she left her hand in the air, as she reached deeper down inside herself. She grabbed at the power she'd used before, what she'd done to stop the train. The sky started to darken, a mass of spears coalescing in the air around her. "NARAYANASTRA!"

Activate Narayanastra [R], alter to 6.

Forty million zombies. Even for Minato, even in his experience as a hunter of Aramitama, this was something new. Nothing scary, just new.

Forty million zombies. So far, Minato had gathered, they'd seen everything they'd had to offer. Shef's portals, Faith's beams, his Rho Aias, Noriko's spears and Yoake's Keijo shenanigans; the gatling blasts they'd used to break Rho Aias, and the direct explosions they'd spawned behind his shield were testament to them at least expecting him. Their defenses were built off that. He fully expected them to have even prepared something for some of their newer techniques; Noriko's whole rain of spears, the Luin Celtchair.

But this technique, he'd never used before. He wasn't quite sure it would work. He'd practiced it a little bit, after all, to get the hang of it; if he could figure out how to do it with more weapons, then it could be useful. His weapons broke, even the tougher ones like Durandal. That was the reality of it. They were inferior copies upon copies; facsimiles made to emulate the original, that couldn't possibly even touch the original. Minato, no matter how good he was, couldn't quite yet make copies equal or superior to their base.

They reflected their wielder; always trying to emulate the heroes of old, but never quite matching them, never quite emulating them.

Maybe it wasn't the weapon that needed to change. Maybe it was the way he used it.

Noriko and Faith didn't need protecting, not in the immediate moment, not right now. They didn't need a knight in shining armor.  They needed as much explosions as physically possible, and Minato was happy to deliver. Faith had pointed out the enemy, Shef had opened a path, and Noriko was about to cover the zombies with forty million spears like a scene straight out of a Chinese wuxia movie. Now it was Minato's turn to do something.

The right leg of Minato's armor suddenly glows with the golden energy signalling Minato summoning a Regalia into the world, but instead of forming into a weapon, the projection breaks into ethereal shards, wrapping around his leg like a third suit of armor. For a brief moment, if anyone had cared to look, they might have seen what he had summoned, and then realised exactly what he'd planned to do. His hand drifts to the lever on his belt.

"Here goes nothing. Faith, don't worry. Just stay behind Yoake, Yuki and the others. Noriko and I got this."
"Limiter Off."

Doublecast Dai-Henshin, alter to six. Use 1 Resolve, and then use Unerring Spear of the Allfather and smash Minato's Gungnir-boosted foot into Stalin, using five of the stockpile to assist the attack and the remaining stockpile to defend Minato from the surroundings, with explosions if necessary.

Yoake gritted her teeth. No jokes this time.

Yoake uses Interstellar Butt to teleport inside the wave and open up an attack on Stalin for Minato.

Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)

[Now Playing: Fatality]

Okay so Faith in her terror, manages to feel something other than the crushing despair inside her soul, namely the crushing despair outside her soul, currently trying to crush Stalin's balls (along with the rest of his existence) like some kind of emo metaphysical vice. She points that out. Twice actually, at Winter's behest, the second time from a couple paces to the side. From the two gestures Winter traces two lines, and from those two lines she gets a set of coordinates. Coordinates for Yoake.

So in an interesting role reversal, Minato finds himself getting grabbed by a pair of breasts and yanked into deep space in an ordeal that is equal parts bewildering, confusing, and terrifying, as in, more so than usual with Yoake. When their little jaunt ends, he finds himself being hurled bodily towards Stalin.

Congratulations, you've caught him. His pants are down, his dick's out, figuratively on both counts thankfully, and with a pull of his lever, Minato explodes forwards, aiming to make sure he won't be capable of doing either. But, you know how that song and dance goes. Soon as he kicks, his target seemingly teleports behind him, bringing his sickle down on the lad's neck. So, he's found a counter for teleports eh? That flanking move, it's not just a cheap opener, it's there to counter things like Yuki's teleport and Yoake's Interstellar Butt. Doesn't work against Gungnir though, and with a little twist of causality, Minato's kick rends up the Aramitama's torso and detonates somewhere in his upper chest. There's, a lot of blood, and screaming, and Minato's pretty sure the Man of Steel's missing his nards now.

That being said, he's pretty sure his mech's missing like, most of the actuators in its leg, and a good deal of the integration mediators are completely fried. Projection enhancement system's still green but mobility-wise the suit's deadweight now.

With Minato away and Faith too terrified to fight, crowd control duty falls to Noriko. The skies certainly dark with thousands of giant spears crashing down onto the battlefield. Well, not quite crashing - they're aimed, Noriko's aiming them all, her dire winds howling across the battlefield, feeling out everything before her, the spears, their trajectories, a certain attractive coworker's naked-

...

You know what? If there's anything she's learned today, it's that if God exists, he's a goddamn pervert.

So the horde's structure is just, all messed up. The tidal wave hasn't halted but blood is flowing down into the cracked earth, corpses are being, less impaled more, getting smashed to pieces, and the sheer force of the impacts are spreading ripple through the horde. All in all, with the targets mindless and in disarray Shef couldn't hope for a better target. Doesn't even need to raise his weapon, just fucking stares down the horde, barking threats and commands at ragged horde. It's a game of chicken against a fucking tsunami, and the tsunami's the one that blinks. The waning wave splits as it surges forwards, becoming two roaring streams in a V-shape that surrounds his group yet doesn't even come close to touching them. Not yet at least.

Yuki uses this time to heal. Faith was her priority right now, and if she's so shook, then she'll be her bulwark. Cuts and scrapes vanish from her body as her divine barrier continues to build. She readies her chainsaw, the air around her filling with killing intent as she waits for the horde to make their first move.

Satoshi holsters her revolver and takes off her scarf, the fabric wraps around her free arm, as a length of it extends and sharpens, an animated blade, readying to strike.

Y'know those old kung fu movies where the jackass minions just fuck about around the star jumping at them like one at a time like a buncha dumb assholes? That's basically what happens here. The entire horde's charging at you going with bayonet stabs, flying vaulting kicks, and wild hook punches, but they're not dog-piling you either. There's gotta still be several million left still, but even with Shef mind-controlling them en massse you're gonna need to take the offensive or you'll be stucking these dipshits for the rest of the damn week.

Minato and Yoake are facing a similar situation with the back end of the horde spinning back around to back up their wounded master. Who is currently trying inject himself with the healing potions using his bear limb, as he sweeps his eyebeams at the pair over and over again. Two large shadowy limbs sprout from his wounded chest and grab hammer and sickle. Slamming the weapons together, energy arcs everywhere as he readies to clash the weapons against their next approach.

This was an utterly absurd number of enemies. The time it would take to destroy even half of them, would be prohibitive in destroying Stalin. It would grant too much of a respite. So they needed to stop Stalin, and to that, they--most of the team at least--needed to get to him. Hopefully Yoake and Minato, who'd disappeared, were in the direction that Faith had indicated, since that was where Shef headed.

Keep up the Requiem effect as Shef moves forward towards Stalin trying to clear the path. Burn a 2. Use Resolve to make it work increase the power.

Yoake snarled. She had had enough.

Her butt whips out as fast as possible, attempting to strike the healing potion away from Stalin with one of her Heat Butt tails, and lashing him at the same time.
