Generally try to avoid class overlap if possible. It isn't always and considering there will likely be more applicants than accepted characters not a huge deal.

But if I take a niche nobody has, my success rate is liable to be higher then it would if I overlapped with a ton of people  .

Bio: Born in Chilcinne (thankfully close to the border), Booker was very used to being a little hungry all the time. It's just how things were. He didn't question it until he was about ten, when he asked his father about it. Then it hit him: why should he have no money when the war with Mordo wasn't his fault? That wasn't very fair. Not even the shopkeepers, the richest people in town, had a lot more money than anybody else. But they did have a lot of food... Surely they wouldn't mind if some of it went missing.

They didn't, of course. It's hard to miss what you don't know it's gone, and especially when it was only  small crust of bread or scrap of meat. Booker got very good at... finding these things over the years. Eventually he started to find a little bit of money, too, since that was the reason his family had so little food. But the two are very different things, and people soon noticed they were all missing a few coins they had definitely had just a bit ago. Already a young man, Booker knew he could not keep this up for much longer before it all fell apart, and he left home with an idea.

Apparently, it's very easy to make bandits not really feel like robbing you any more. All you have to do is nick one of their ears with a knife while throwing it at the tree beside his head. Then, he'll ask you to kill other bandits for him. And you get to keep anything you take from their camp, too. Pretty great deal. So that's what Booker did for the next year or so. He had a routine; wait a few weeks, get another person to kill, grab a boatload of gold (and send most of it back home, where hopefully mom and dad keep it a secret), maybe buy another knife from the pretty Izarran trader who comes around from up north every once in a while...

But as all good things did, eventually this stopped being so good. Booker came to realize he was killing  lot of people and not much was changing. Of course they were bad people, which is fine... but the bad people he worked with were still doing a lot of pillaging and murder. Even more, actually, since he was slowly widening their territory along the Rheane border. Booker was pretty unhappy when he realized that. So, next time his Izarra friend came to town, the bandit leader found he had a new slit in his throat and the two left very quickly in the middle of the night.

Booker felt quite a lot of guilt on their trip from what he'd been doing in the past. Not so much at first, but more he thought about it the more he realized how selfish it had all been. Was giving his parents the extra coin really worth all those people his "friends" had no doubt killed? Booker wanted to make things right, one way or another. To atone for the lives lost because of him. And since they were heading into another war-torn country (if a bit of a different kind of war), he figured there might be a need for his talents. It was as good of a place to start as any.

Ah ok, is all good then. Buuuut, it looks like you resized it and maybe converted to jpeg which has screwed badly with shading. I grabbed the original mug from the guy and recolored it. Here, what do you think:



General tip is never resize a FE mug unless you're prepared to completely recolor/shade it. Also you should prolly transparent out the background.

Hey that's pretty good, thank you! I've never done anything art related in my life (and it was 2:30 in the morning) so I imagine it probably didn't like very good. Also I'm not really sure how to make the background transparent...

Bio: Her first memories were of being alone, shivering as perched underneath a watery bridge and warming herself over a broken fire. All about her, children crouched in huddled masses, clutching themselves for warmth.

She did not cry. She rose, slowly, and held one younger than herself and clutched him close to her chest. No. She had to be strong. She would be strong.

Her next memory was dim and hazy. She remembered being picked off the street by one of the Sisters of Mercy. She remembered them taking her to the poor house, giving her food and rest.

Izzarra had left many children like her orphans, and the Sisters of Mercy were doing all they can just to take care of the poor and abandoned. It was not much, but it was enough to at least save Robin. Their kindness, she did not forget, but rather sought to pay back with menial labor.

Lacking name already, the nuns would name her Robin, after the cheerful birds that were never without song.  In spite of crushing poverty, a smile is never far from her face, and her first instinct is to always help another before ever thinking to help herself.

Maybe one day, she might have joined the sisterhood and become a nun herself, but fate had other plans. She found at once, a book, torn and tattered. Though she could not read, she could sense the powers beneath it's pages, how it danced at her touch.

Robin had the gift, and she did not know what to make of it. She stashed the book away, and hoped that she would never have to use it. 

But these days, things have been getting worse. Ever since the King of Izzarra died, there have been more and more people relying on the Sisters of Mercy for help. The people were suffering and deep down, Robin knew that she simply could not stand aside and allow this to happen.

The young girl went back to her secret place beneath a cold, watery bridge and took the book back from where it was hidden. Though she knew nothing of war, she steeled herself to fight for the freedom of her country. Izzarra needed to be free before they could ever find peace.

Bio:
Roux is a tall, rough-looking woman with Chilcennean features. Her armour is old, but still sturdy, painted darkly. The pelt of a bear is slung over a shoulder.

The child of a bandit lord and one of his concubines who ruled near the Izzarran border. When his enemies defeated him and hung his head from a pole, her mother took her and fled onto Izzarra. Not much better, but still...

Roux, as befitting a bandit's child, was a rough kid, not good for much but scrapping. She became a horse thief - more accurately, she'd beat up people and steal their horses. It wasn't a good way to live, but it was how she made her gold - enough for her and her ma. Until her ma became sick. There were no healers left in Izzarra - proper ones, anyway - that she could afford, and if she sold her armour and lance she'd not be able to do her job. It was a dilemma.

Roux needed gold - proper gold - in order to afford someone to make her ma well again, or to force someone to heal her. She came up with the idea of kidnapping a priest or something - either the priest could heal her ma or the ransom would be enough to purchase medicine. She travelled across the Rheanean border to a nearby monastery. There, she, well...

No nice way to put it. She ambushed a priest on his lonesome, conked him on the head, and rode off with her victim. While waiting for the ransom, Roux made the classic mistake of the kidnapper - she got to talking with the priest. His name was Bertholt, and he was sympathetic to Roux's plight. For perhaps the first time in her life, Roux began to feel kinda bad about what she'd done to the priest. When Bertholt heard of the misery and suffering in Izzarra, he determined he'd head to that blighted land to help.

He offered Roux a job - bodyguard and companion, and her mother would be cured. Suspecting a trap, Roux cautiously let the priest return to tender his resignation (or whatever it was priests did when they left a priory) and, somewhat baffled by the turn of events, joined Bertholt in his journey to Izzarra when it turned out he kept his word entirely.

The dumbass would probably get himself killed without her there, anyway.

Blah! I never know which one to use... Black is my preference, but it's a bit too stark, while purple as is kind of silly. But maybe I can try to tone it down a bit, so that way it's not overpoweringly purple or black. No border simply looked best in the short term. I'll throw them up! And then make quiet... Corrections. Blergh. I've been away from this for too long!
