Skeleton Race?

How would someone make a living skeleton race/creature? For a thing

Side Question, how would one give it bone wings?

I know there are tags that prevent creatures from being resurrected, and if you make all of it's tissue layers out of bone, it could work.

It would mostly need a lot of tags like NOEXERT, NOSLEEP, NOEAT etc. But it is very plausible.

I wonder. 

You might be able to use a bunch of things like Remove Material - Skin, Remove Material - Muscle (I forget the proper syntax).  Or, build the creature like a bronze colossus or gabbro man, but give it a bone body instead of bronze or gabbro.

Should be perfectly possible. Just add only the bone material, obviously leave out the organs and everything, and copy and adapt the tissue layer tags from the bronze colossus.

NOT_LIVING might also be a good tag to add, in addition to the ones already mentioned.

The fun thing about creatures that only have hard connective tissue materials, is that you can dismember them with blunt impact. Good times. You may have to tweak the bone material to be a bit stronger, and/or add a soft tissue under the bone layer to keep the skellies from being overly fragile. You can also reduce their body width to bring them down to a realistic weight (while they can still wear human-size clothing), as not doing so will give them the same volume as a regular, meaty human which might be a bit weird.

The old Masterwork had skeletons as part of the warlock civ, maybe look at how it worked there?

Only adding bone to a regular body plan won't work, because the upper body, lower body, and head don't normally have bone layers; they have internal body parts (skull and parts of the spine) that are made of bone.  These parts will end up "floating" in nonexistent body parts, which will cause issues.

Making a humanoid entirely out of bone will work, but it won't have the proportions of a skeleton, it'll just be a human statue made of bone.  You need to make custom body parts to make it behave realistically.

If you want, you can take the "bone colossus" from my Mythical Monsters mod.  It's just a plain old giant human skeleton, so just adjust its size and it should be what you need.

Note: they are absurdly easy to bisect, being held together by a narrow spinal column and nothing else.  You might want to make a custom bone material to give them a fighting chance.
