A little idea I came up with for smaller-scale succession games. Instead of passing from player to player in order, Ruler Roulette has it switch between participating players randomly.

Core Rule:
Use some form of random number generation to switch players after a set period of time, either in-game or irl.

Optional Rules:
Have the ruler instate an arbitrary rule for other following rulers after every session.
Remove a ruler for "X" sessions after "Y" sessions in a row.
Anything else you can come up with to make things interesting, feel free to suggest additions to the list!
