EDIT: The goblins are going to pay for it.

If you make your wall out of goblinite, the goblins literally paid for it

That's a difficult question.

Be sure to post a screenshot when you pave over the entire surface with golden floors.

That -11..104 I think indicates that the gold vein started above your current cursor location (likely at the embark wagon), which implies the mountain.  It's likely part of a different biome than where you are digging, which is why you haven't found anything yet in your current descent.

I think you have it the wrong way around, the top of the map is the highest Z. So, the gold should be below all the other ores, quite likely there are a lot of Z levels between the last cave and the magma. You can check the Z levels of trees to get a better idea, and of course you can use reveal if you are really curious,

That does sound like a fun megaproject, tbh.

1) All Goblinite is stored in a special stockpile
2) All goblinite is melted down and turned into blocks
3) Wall is built with Goblinite Blocks

I didn't actually say this.

there is nothing funnier than watching a goblin army get assaulted by hundreds of war chickens.

Any new discovery, sufficiently weaponize, is indistinguishable from !!FUN!!
