A force of 41 humans from "The Boyish Confederacies" challenged the Dwarves of Fort Lashtrance to a war by single combat. King Stakereign agreed to fight their champion, in defense of the rest. He slew their champion, Elina Smashedblinds and returned to Fort Lashtrance triumphant.
After several disheartened human warriors begin to trek back to their homes, the force of the 25 remaining humans challenged the dwarves of Fort Lashtrance once again. Onget Stoodgirder agreed to fight their champion. He slew their champion, Nutxox Focusequals and returned to Fort Lashtrance triumphant.
After yet more desertions, the grim remaining force of 17 humans challenged the dwarves of Fort Lashtrance a third time. Eager for recognition, Sazir Clawgirder accepted the challenge. He also slew their champion, Egod Cloisteredluster and returned to the Fort in triumph.
After some infighting, a toughened squad of 12 grim humans challenged the dwarves of Fort Lashtrance a final time. Medtob Laborrelease strode boldly out to accept the challenge as the other Great Clans had done.
However, Medtob was unequal to the task and was slain in single combat by his opponent, the human Talin Scalebog. Having defeated the Dwarves' chosen champion, Talin claimed the Fortress and all within it as his fief by Right of Conquest. He gave the remaining dwarves a single choice: Swear fealty or be executed.

Talin Scalebog claimed Fort Lashtrance as his own, calling himself "The Cover of Control". He and his band of twelve now calls themselves "The Fiery Society" with Talin taking the title of "Overlord". They use Fort Lashtrance as their base of operations to plan further conquests. The children of the Clans in Fort Lashtrance are assumed to have been enslaved by their conquerors but may yet find their way west to freedom.
Since King Stakereign died without an heir, Zanego Summitprinces of The Bridge of Dreams was chosen to be crowned King instead, beginning the reign of King Zanego the first. Zanego quickly chose Asmelo-Bones of The First Bridge as the new Diplomat and the widower Ast Craftwine of The Bridge of Dreams as his General. He charged Zefoni Greedspun with the duty to re-take Fort Lashtrance and gave her the title of "Baroness of Lashtrance" to make her claim legitimate once the fortress was re-taken. Lastly, he chose Kolo of The Bridge of Dreams to be the new Outpost Liason.
Thus began the Reign of the Summitprinces Clan.
