Quest: The Mayor's Door, 3+ Prestige
« Reply #107 on: May 20, 2017, 07:11:53 pm »

In year 17 of the Age of Ano, the mayor of The Bridge of Dreams requested a door made from electrum be installed as the entrance to her dining hall.  Her request however, was unable to be fulfilled by those she governed.  The first pilgrim to bring a door made from or decorated with electrum to the Mayor of The Bridge of Dreams will receive the Mayor's gratitude and patronage as a reward.
(Reward: The current Mayor of The Bridge of Dream's Prestige)

Who knows what this will portend for our civilization?  I don't even really know if the children survived or not, since in Legends Mode they exist as comments of children for their parents, but when I try to look them up individually, they don't exist... Schrodinger's children...

edit: Turns out the RNG doesn't list them until they either take a job or get married.  Mystery solved.

The Bridge of Hailing, Year 19, Age of Ano

The Citizens of Migtutherith enjoyed a quiet year of peace and relative prosperity without much to celebrate or mourn.  They grieved the loss of their king and of Fort Lashtrance, and many sharpened their axes in anticipation of more human aggression.  However, the harvests of plump helmets were good and many a Clan heaved a secret sigh of relief that they'd had at least this year to recuperate from their tragic loss.  King Zanego used the reprieve wisely, making The Bridge of Dreams his seat of power.

Use Legends Viewer. It's good for that kind of stuff.
Mass genocide doesn't seem to be a very big thing in DF unless its the rare instance of an attack on a Kobold site, so unless the heirs fought on the siege or got particularily unlucky on the pillaging/conquering they are probably still alive, either in Lashtrance or a camp near it.

Yes - Legends viewer is what I've been using each year to figure out what's been going on with all the Clans. (Save the game, copy the save, retire the copy then Legends view each individual Clan to see what's new.  Sometimes, like the Agecanyon/Stoodgirders marriage that turned up in Guildraptors Hillock, I don't catch it until a couple turns later and have to go back and back-edit that year to reflect the "new" information.  Anyway, I only do that to the copy, so that the original file is only retired once a bridge is completed.)

I'm going to use the Year 19 copy and attempt to travel to Lashtrance to see if the kids show up or not.  If so, I'll have firm proof of it and go back after The Bridge of Hailing is done and rename them using their Clan affiliations so that the Legends viewer will trace them properly as "historic people".

I traveled to Fort Lashtrance, but there are no humans there (yay!) However there are no children there either (boo!).  Oddly enough, nobody knew (or were willing to admit to knowing) who any of the slain nobility were either. So now were at the end of our resources.  Until their deaths are confirmed or one of them shows up as a migrant, these "Schrodinger's children" will be listed as MIA and any families with a complete MIA in membership will be moved temporarily to the Extinct Clans section.
