Attack on Titan.
That sounds like it would be somewhat appropriate but ultimately accrue bad kill/death statistics against the gigantic Can egos, and be hilariously bad against the one-in-ten-thousand that actually possess a mind... But at least you aren't expecting them to use swords...

Honestly, I'd expect him to bring heavy machine guns or RPGs or something (or tiger armor).

what are the fighter classes that can't manoeuvre out of the way? the only fighter we use is the lightning streak, which should be mostly safe from missiles for a long time.

Well the Haast would be the obvious pick, as something that is small enough to have trouble and clunky enough to be imperilled if the pilot is drunk. We may still have some legacy HF-23s if the Haast hasn't completely taken over the dive-bombing role. I would expect that our level bombers can mount flares with no issue but it isn't certain.

why don't we just say "mount flares as-needed" and leave it to our commanders to figure out when best to use them?  I don't think we need to micromanage it.

+1

I'm pretty sure we still have some HF-23 bombers and 32b stingers in naval roles because our wasp nest carriers still outnumber our z carriers and they only have short runways. Maybe even a few on our z carriers to sortie quickly from the top deck at the same time the jets and haasts launch from the bottom deck.

I wonder if we can take a yellowjacket, remove the wings, improve the wheels, and use them like motorcycles... Perhaps we can even argue for getting an expertise bonus because they are constructed from more air unit than ground unit!
