Well it's not like we're going to stop them from taking us somewhere. Not even the utter genius of flinging a cat availed us.

Maybe we can get the cat to scratch someone via Blazer Pointer and then blow up all their blood or something. Anyway dodgeroll out of the cell, and then pose dramatically.

These dodge roll suggestions makes me recall the Rawhide song.
Edit: Dodge roll montage time?

Have the forgotten beast extract/spoiled alcohol/disease ridden mucus that is constantly all over any good dwarven cat's feet splatter onto the guard's face through the face holes on the helmet. When the guard starts vomiting and bleeding from his armpits make great escape and find the master control lever that opens all the cells at once. Because no dwarven fort wouldn't have one. Or at least find the room that contains the 90 something identical, unlabelled levers that operate every essential function in the fort.

Also, if the guards in charge of handling all the dangerous sentient animals only have copper armor with iron chest plates chances are none of them are too competent or there's just no good gear available. A leveled dodge-roll should make you impervious to their attacks.

All of that is true and also if we must make a daring escape a trip to the master lever room would obviously sow the most chaos and/or trip the self destruct mechanism(s) that all forts accidentally build into themselves.

But trying to escape now could be hasty. Be sure to pose dramatically no matter what is decided. The masons must have their muse.

Check inventory and stats.

dodgeroll out of the cell, and then pose dramatically.

You show off your dodging skills and follow the guards.

You go down some stairs to the first floor of prison cells and toward a passage way.

The guard says "You have two hours before the fight. You can train with the equipment here." There are screw pumps, a stockpile of leather armor and a rack of wooden training weapons.

I am going to be on vacation for the next several weeks and I won't be able to update until I get back. I'm having a lot of fun with this so I look forward to when I can work on it again.

I have many suggestions in order of priority.

Attempt to use hemomancy to perform healing on arm. Is that a thing? We should check.

Acquire leather armor.

Attempt to befriend small green creature on screw pump.

Worry about status of cat, who was thrown. Befriend cat if possible.

Take a weapon, the one most complicated to use will obviously be superior.

+1, and also we should try to keep our hemomancy as a secret weapon. It seems like we are being shanghai'd into some manner of gladiatorial arena.

(+1 remains after above edit)

I mean, HIGH MASTER KNIFE USER is a pretty big deal. To a kobold a large knife is basically a sword, so we should probably stick with the weapon we're almost legendary with. And I would imagine no matter what happens in the gladiator arena they're probably going to kill the victor anyways, so finding an escape route is probably ideal.

Acquire as many training knives as is convenient to carry, start looking around the room for supplies that we could borrow without anyone noticing, and prepare for getaway at best possible moment.

Find a knife. After that, if possible, discreetly practice Hemomancy. Failing that, practice throwing.
Do you think we'll be able to give an aneurysm to people?

Ugh fine I guess this is the WISEST option instead of picking the coolest looking weapon.

+1 for choice of weapon. Also, find 2. Dual-wielding has no effective downside in DF.

We are an adventurer right? Carry as many shields and weapons as we can without lowering our speed. Other than speed decrease, no downside to wielding 300 weapons in DF.
