Discreetly ask the goblin
i.e. "say 'grawr grawr grawr' in a question tone"?)

Also, we should probably make our own splint out of extra wooden training weapons and threads from our cloths.

You break a training spear and use part of it to improvise a splint.

Easy.

Spar in the danger room.

You use hand gestures to convey the idea of sparing in the danger room.

"What a novel idea." the champion says. "We will get you in shape in no time!" You and the champion squeeze into the danger room together.

You are pelted by wooden spikes but they mostly bounce off your armor. You don't take any injury beyond light bruising. You and the champion wrestle for over an hour bringing you to competant wrestler status. More impressively, you shoot up to professional armor user.

"Times up." A guard says. You and the other gladiators are led down a series of tunnels ending in a large copper wall and a weapon rack. The weapons on the rack are steel and of decent quality.

Which weapon do you take?

Most of those are too large for us.
What's our dagger proficiency?

+1 To taking the weapon rack.

The weapon rack has probably been carved from a single piece of sandstone or schist so it would make a good club in the hands of a troll. (Perhaps if our right elbow wasn't busted...)

Limited to using only one hand, I say we grab the dagger.

Alternatively, grab all the weapons, stash them in our loincloth, and make a daring escape using backflips and dodgerolls. We are a thief kobold after all.

Anyone can carry anything in DF irrespective of its weight or even if they have the proper appendages. Kias and anvils are a classic example. This adventure has already highlighted DF physics, such as the dog/rock sniper incident. I'm not suggesting that the kobold swing it around like a club, just that he drag it around and plonk it down when an enemy approaches in the colosseum and use it as a frame to dodge around and within, while enemy weapons glance off it.

We are LEGENDARY dagger users, I would imagine dagger is the way to go. That being said, I have no idea how I feel about taking the entire weapon rack. If we deconstruct the rack, and then reconstruct it inside of the ring we can hypothetically have our own portable jungle-gymdodging apparatus. A building destroyer won't think twice about breaking it (which could be used to our advantage), but it might be nigh impermeable to normal enemies.

Are you kidding me this is the best idea in the history of ideas.

Swing it about as obviously as possible then use our Bloodromancy to do all the actual damage, we can train our secret powers in broad daylight. We have ridiculous defensive abilities.

Alternatively yeah I guess you could do the same thing with a dagger or knife, but it lacks that special something that led us to steal an adamantite shield in broad public view then start carving things on the wall as a distraction for a dodgeroll meant to lead into a nutshot.

Edit: The below is probably the wisest, most logical course.

Start with the dagger, then, considering this is adventure mode, pick up as much as possible without becoming encumbered. We'll wield it all.

+1 to claim dagger first.
After that, wait for the goblin and champion to pick so everybody has at least one weapon.
If one of the spears remains, take that, too.

Spears are the traditional weapon of choice against larger opponents, which is . . . likely . . . for a kobold. They can be buttressed against the ground to leverage the enemy's own charge against them; they're pretty decent at parrying, too, although we haven't practiced that skill yet.

Axe, hammer, and mace all work more on the user's strength (and skill) and are probably two-handed wields for our relative size. Our busted arm is counter-indicative. (The spear may be two-handed as well, but I think it'll be easier to fake proficiency, at least as a distraction from our real move.)
