This is dwarf fortress, and this is a horrible dwarf fortress with !!science experiments!! and all that.

Is this a reanimating biome?  We might just need to wait a bit. :P

As to what kind, I'd suggest skunk person. Even assuming vanilla settings, we can at least convincingly bluff being able to pull an OP chemical weapon out of our ass if the situation demands.
