Not that I know of, but it sounds like a good idea.

I might've seen one once. It was a while ago though, so you'll have to dig for it.

I wonder what such a mod would entail. Guns obviously, some unique civilizations (Cowboys, Indians, East Coasters)

Oh and hats

lots of hats.

I made Speecho "say" things with sound, because you can make it intermittent.

You could make one that says "twirls the object in his hands dramatically" or the like. If he isn't holding a revolver, just assume he has a fidgety spinnamabob or whatever you kids usually have in your hands these days.

I'd be interested in playing Native Americans in Adventure mode. They have a lot of interesting melee weapons.

Using a Bowie knife would also be fun.

I can't imagine it would be difficult. What sort of wild west? High fantasy wild west with undead, vampires, etc. Or a more realistic mundane wild west?

Both of those would be pretty easy I'd imagine, since most of the content they would require is already in dwarf fortress. You would simply need to make some human civilizations, either add an existing gun mod or build your own guns from scratch, then go into advanced world gen and create a world preset with limited biomes. Mostly just desert and plains.

I think High Fantasy Wild West would be the most interesting. (In my own humble opinion.)
However Dwarves, Elves, Goblins, etc.. as we know them in DF, might not exactly fit in.
Some brainstorming might be in place, in order to figure out how to cram them into this setting. Should we choose to keep them around.

There was an American colonization era mod, and I think it had something like that - give me a second and I'll find it.

Edit: Actually, it was a frontier mod.

Frontier Fortress

Development halted about a year ago, it looks like - however the creator is still active, and you might be able to convince him to update it.

Creator

Edit2: Also, it uses a rather obscure tileset - the Duerer tileset.

That looks fun, I'm surprised I never heard of it.
