It'll be a focus. I'll be a mage.
I have no idea what I'm doing.

Wait, I thought you said you were going low magic? I mean I'm not changing characters at this point, but throwing canon magic and spirits at us when we don't have access to canon shamans/mages/adepts seems a little harsh.

Well actually you do have access to canon shamans/mages/adepts, I probably should have made that more clear....but anyway I think I said something along the lines of "I don't want to make this Shadowrun: Gibson Mode and also magic allows you to set lava on fire". Nothing is stopping you from playing an awakened character, just uh...don't expect things to turn out well when you start snipping off body parts and replacing them with augments. And don't worry magic stuff will be pretty low until some fool decides to join as a Shaman or a Mage and doom the rest of the party.
It'll be a focus. I'll be a mage.
I have no idea what I'm doing.
That's the spirit! But yeah magic is one of those things that you are born with, it can manifest at any point in someone's life, but a vast majority has no idea what magic actually is and are unable to use it.

Magic power manifested at the creation of the arm sleeve wire mesh thing.

EDIT: blueness may or may not have started around the same time.

Complete radio silence was caused due to a sudden and unplanned family trip,.
I will probably post up the first mission hook in a few hours if I have the time to write something good, I was planning on making a map but I won't have time for that so sorry.

Down and out in a Seattle evening, feels a a bit familiar doesn't it? People say that the life of a Shadowrunner is a glamorous one, filled with equal parts danger and excitement, with a very good helping of riches and hidden secrets of the world revealed on top, but of course here you are again, with nothing to show for all off your hard work but a slightly shinier set of equipment and a few more scars on your body.

A part of you may wonder why your old fixer was being particularly silent these last few nights, the man had a habut of interrupting whatever evening plans you had by sending you a message about "Easy Nuyen" and give you some boring but safe job offer like delivering a package or escorting a suit over to another street.

And so tonight seemed like it would have been nothing but a leisurely Seattle evening spent in the relative comfort of your home. Granted you could still hear the sound of sirens of course, it was pretty obvious that somewhere a very poor man is getting his drek robbed by a bunch of thrill gangers before losing what little he had left to the corporate police that someone has called to "help" him.

Then we get to the smell, which was fairly standard actually; it was fine as long as you liked the idea of breathing in what is probably a mixture of radioactivity, rust, miscellaneous pollutants, and the smell of what you hope is a corpse and not something worse and man eating.

For some odd reason you have found a pair of discrete looking sunglasses right beside you; now by this point in your career you probably know better than to not look a gift horse in the mouth, and there is a very real chance that you'll chose not to put on the obviously suspicious pair of sunglasses. Especially after it started making odd "Choo choo" noises.
This is probably a good time to completely and utterly ignore that odd little detail before skiving off to play Poker or something.

((OOC: Describe what your character was doing and where they were, also say what they are going to do next in action form. You still haven't gotten your first mission yet.
infodump: Pretty much everything your characters eat will be made out of Soy given flavoring and nutrients or krill, real meat and vegetables are one of those things that only really rich people have.
For routine and stuff, just imagine real life, but shadier. You live in a world where pretty much everything can kill you, and almost everyone you meet isn't above stabbing you in the back if it means getting ahead. Everything is faker, things are more dangerous, the Japanese are still a thing; the standard form of currency is "Nuyen" which to simplify things can be considered to be a completely digital currency stored in credsticks, which are small pen like objects that basically act like a credit card.
Fixer: The person who gives a Shadowrunner or a group of Shadowrunners their job by negotiating with several Mr. Johnsons to find a job that seems well suited for your skills.
Mr. Johnson: Some shady fucker who wants something done, could represent anyone from a ancient conspiracy, a bunch of drugged out stoners, to an actual megacorporation.))

Frost is just kinda off in a corner, waiting, watching everyone, ensuring that his back is not open to being stabbed, and fantasizing about not having to deal with this anymore.
That about sums up what he's been doing for a while, and what he'll be doing until something notable happens.

Houston 404 is sitting in his apartment, flipping through television channels for something to watch, and for anyone could see, acting like your average working-class person. He looks out through the window, scanning the skyline.

Muffin man comes home to his little appartment in the Barrens and puts his coat and sunglasses on the kitchen table. Inside, he makes himself a nice cup of soycaf and heats up some kind of pastry (also soy based, figures) he got from the stuffer shack.

He takes his refreshments to the table and puts on the tv. After stuffing the pastry in his mouth, he sets about cleaning his Shiawase Nemesis while watching Wyrm Talk. What can he say? He's a sucker for this show in particular.

The Muffin Man
Tonight's Wyrm talk was disappointingly enough a recording, a well dressed filipino man you vaguely recognize as the great dragon Masaru was talking with a variety of somber looking men and women about some terrifying free spirit called a "Shadim" or whatever it was that seemingly exists only to sow conflict for no real reason whatsoever.
But after he explains that they exclusively take over the bodies of people who are astrally projecting you mentally note it down as "Weird Magic Shit you won't have to deal with hopefully".
(8)
You successfully clean your Nemesis while watching the TV show, it appears to be a very well cared for weapon now, and anyone looking at it would perhaps mentally note how professional the man carrying it is. (The Shiwase Armaments Nemesis now provides a +1 when it comes to convincing someone that you are a professional and not some green horn with a machinegun)
Your commlink (Everyone has one for obvious reasons) let's out a little tune as you eagerly watch the show, you're not sure if it's important or not, but it could get annoying after a while.

We Have A Problem 404
(3)
You attempt to succeed in flicking through the various channels on your ancient looking television, and anyone looking inside of your house would see that you were in fact nothing but a regular and not at all suspicious Joe Average who has just come home from a busy day at work.
But rather unfortunately you accidentally switched to the Naked News channel as it was just starting up it's evening broadcast, and in your haste to switch to another channel you accidentally pressed the volume up button causing the words "Good Evening Seattle, and welcome to the Naked News, this is your host Richard...Richard Cockburn" to be clearly heard by your next door neighbors. You are not quite sure how that happened.
(2)
You succeeded in spotting the brick of fliers as it flies towards your window, and you succeed in spotting it as it hits your good old television screen with a rather loud crash, and you succeed in spotting the douchy drone that had fired it towards you. You think you saw an Ares symbol on it's side before it zoomed away.

As you assess the damage the drone had caused to your sweet sweet television, your commlink chirped back to life for the first time this week, although you are probably too worried about your television to check it.

Frost
(10)
You spend an unfortunate amount of time standing in the back of a bar while trying desperately to not get stabbed, after a while your commlink rings back to life, it seems that someone somewhere wants to speak to you.

Satisfied with his handiwork, Muffin Man puts his rifle back in the nondescript duffel bag and goes to pick up his commlink.

Jack Frost
The commink makes clicking and humming noises for a moment, and it lasts long enough for you to consider hanging up. But before you try to do so a man answers with a rather tired tone of voice "The Skumm Barr, E Union Street, in one hours. Bring your equipment with you if you want to show off; I know a man who could use outside help with a certain problem, and an acquaintance of mine recommended you. Now the question is; are you interested in easy nuyen?"

404
Your commlink makes several clicking and humming noises that you vaguely recognize as the encryption on your shitty commlink booting up, and you realize that anything you say will have an inconvenient seven second delay before it reaches the other caller. Before you could say anything in advance you hear a man's voice say "An old acquaintance of mine said that good old 404 is the sort of chap to call when you are in need of an trouble shooter to solve a problem discretely, or to use another piece of innuendo an...exterminator to eliminate a certain rat problem. And if you are that man; then I suggest that you go to The Skumm Barr on E Union Street in one hour.".

Muffin Man
Your commlink makes several clicking and humming noises, before you hear a rather jovial sounding man you don't recognize say "Easy Nuyen, is what your old fixer used to say. Don't ask me where I have gotten your number, but you should know that I am a fixer, and that you seem ready for more lucrative work. Head to The Skumm Barr on E Union Street in one hour if you are interested.".
