It is 9x9. And, I think it might indeed be based on this aka Dorten's first version (Both of these have 7s look like question marks).

Though, opening both up in same tab and going back-forth reveals bunch of differences, such as lack of alpha/grey areas in walls (can't see a difference in in-game shots tho I guess it affects engraved walls) and different bed/÷/O symbol.

I assume you've considered swapping  brown and orange and dismissed it as ugly?

Could've been someone's custom set.

Some things are hardcoded as [4,0,0] like blood Derp what am I saying, blood color is in the raws. Well, I must've decided that brown blood and orange trees was less weird than orange blood and brown trees.

I built a passageway from my tile to Sanctume's tile. Use lever near where it enters D2 to operate it; you can use it to split up the siege into more manageable chunks. You should pull the lever now actually, I left the passage open last I remember.

Yeah... that walkway is probably illegal, it's built above E2 and Sanctume's tile. But what the hell, I don't care much about it. I'll let him decide what to do with it in his turn.

Pretty sure walkways and bridges fall under the category of gates.

Maybe put a 4 tile wide raising bridge beneath it.

A 3-wide sky-way would be cool.  Not just set are 3 ballistas ready to sweep those who cross unwanted.

Siege

Alright. Let’s see what we’ve got.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Weeew. That’s a shitload of goblins. Plenty of beak dogs as well.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
They just keep on coming don’t they.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I don’t think it’s worth waiting around anymore, we’ve got to engage before the situation escalates. The First Foreign Legion is ordered to assemble at the top of JS’s hill. They are to protect the hill at all costs, because it’s a pretty damn awesome hill. The Pea-Shooters are ordered to hide near the cemetery, providing support fire when needed.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Meanwhile, the main army is ordered to group at the gates of Fort Sanctume, the fort being the sole defensible structure in this goddamn land.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Guys. Stop praying guys. We’re in the middle of a siege. Please guys, stop praying. Unless you’re praying for goblins, in which case, fuck you.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Oh you do, really? Trust me, you might be enjoying yourself very soon.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
With the main army having gathered, they are ordered to rendezvous with the Foreign Legion before launching a tactical strike.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Damn it, yer all marching too slow! Some goblins have now made their way into the basement graveyard. We’ve got to make contact at the cemetery. That’s our best chance to take on these guys; if we fight them on an open field we’re dead dwarves. We have to hold the high ground, no matter the cost.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The main army moves in from the side. The Foreign Legion moves in from the front. We can’t wait any longer, the number of goblins in the cemetery is growing out of hand. That’s it, we can't wait any longer; I order them to engage!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Hold the line! You’re all dwarves aren’t you! Hold the line! The future of Ineth Zafal is at stake! HOLD THE FRAKKIN LINE!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Damn it! We’re being overwhelmed!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The remnants of our tattered military are ordered to fight on until the last death.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
For we are all dead men now.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
With the last man dead, I declared the temple closed for the day, on reasons of being fucking overrun by blood and goblins and minor stuff like that.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
If that doesn't say decisive victory, I don't know what does.

Nice update. The architecture is quite nice indeed.

If that doesn't say decisive victory, then raising the bridges at both ends now that they're conveniently in the trap and caving in the ceiling on their heads would.

Honestly, these seiges make things much more exciting than simply winning all of them.

I would like to claim D3.
We have literally no defensive buildings. This is bad.
I will fix that.
I may come back begging for a second year.

D2 has a 2z dry moat, plus 1z block walls, and should have 2 bridges:
a large one to D3,
and maybe a small sky bridge to C2 (neblime's military complex).

A farm plot can help.  But D2 does not have a natural aquifer to fill the well.
I think D3 has aquifer tiles and would make a nice drowning chamber for defense.

A pair of gates across the road between D2 and D3 would be a good idea, that way both can be sealed off together.

I actually went off and designed the fortress with inspiration from Stakesay Castle in England. I intend to make it as self aufficient as possible, with houses, horkshops, barrakses, and other things like that.
An Aquifer is good, since a well is a must.
I must warn you all, while I am good at designing defensive buildings, I have never actually gotten a miliatary. I always wait put sieges. I might have a go at it.
However...
Actually, I might reconsider the lovation of the castle. Put me on the list, but I might go off for a bit and decide for a different one.
Edit: What kinfpd of features does c4 have?
Second edit: What size are the squares?

Everybody has a 44*44 square to build on.

C4 has gently rolling hills and an aquifer.

Thinks
Well, D3 it is.
For those of you who want to know, this is the castle I shall be taking inspiration from:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I intend to change it somewhat, of course.
