I left some whose names were already Human words. It seemed fair, since they came prepared.

This should be a rule, that names should be normalized for all citizens.

It was inevitable.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
hopefully our military is adequately prepared... I recently added 3 human mercenaries, hopefully they can serve as an example to the rest
seems like a sizeable siege
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
wait thats not it?
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
this is not good at all
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
this is far too many for our ragtag military to handle, all they can do is buy time to close the gates.
that fisherman with a strange mood who i completely forgot about chose a pretty good time to finally snap
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
JStheguy's district is full of food which im sure will be very useful in the siege to come (and I daresay we will need the corpse stockpile and tomb as well)
two brave soldiers are caught there and try to defend it
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
but inevitably with no way to seal it off it becomes goblin central
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
as the gates close the soldiers mount a desparate defence around the narrow bridge
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
but alas this is the result.
most humankin escaped into c2 and d2, luckily i had recently setup my tile with bridges to make it secure.
but Ah what's this one got in!?!?
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I quickly got a mob together to beat him to death
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
so far this seems like an isolated incident, hopefully the others dont learn that they can climb anytime soon.
so this is the territory we're reduced to
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I may have to cutoff transit between the two walled areas though because the skyway keeps attracting goblin fire and the poor saps trying to cross frequently dodge off the edge.
We have reasonable food stockpiles in D2 and i hope i can get plenty of farming going before that becomes a problem but other than that there's not much to do but wait out the siege..

I am however having fps problems (not sure why my comp has handled sieges like this before just fine) and that's making timing out the year quite slow, hopefully i'll have it done before too long

Holy schist, did we park our wagon next to a dark tower?

maybe this is why dwarves hide underground, the goblins don't notice them as easily..

Well, um, it's been two weeks since the last update. I've tried messaging neblime but he didn't respond.

Perhaps we should just continue from where he started?

Um, I have a couple questions:
  • Where is the floodgate to close the river dam? I have to use some water power in my current project.
  • Where is the quarry? I've tried to find it, but I can't.

EDIT: Also, am I allowed to violate the treecutting quota, or should I avoid it as much as possible? I need to cut some trees down to make room for my project, and we're currently standing at 94/100 trees allowed to cut.

The quarry that I know of is in the northeast corner of my city block, where the tavern, townhouses and hospital is.
The entrance is a hatch going down, and strip mines a section down adjacent the water/river.
