Okay, now we are randomizing types. Whoops.

And we got three starter choices; once again, this time they're all pretty badass Pokemon by themselves. Which one do we choose, viewers?

Normal-type
Swift Swim or Shell Armor ability
HP - 79
ATK - 126
DEF - 48
SP.A - 94
SP.D - 128
SPE - 20

Golem, who has forgone his physical defense for special, as well as being a good heavy hitter (yet slow)...

Poison-type
Thick Fat ability
HP - 125
ATK - 56
DEF - 21
SP.A - 106
SP.D - 65
SPE - 127

Ursaring, who's a bit of a defensive glass cannon if we could manage to get any sort of special attacks on it, as well as an okay special tank...

Bug-type
Drought Ability
HP - 99
ATK - 114
DEF - 53
SP.A - 65
SP.D - 69
SPE - 126

and Meganium, who is now a heavy-hitting Bug-type with a badass ability it really can't make much use of due to having only okay special attack.

Who shall we pick?

Oh, should have also added; feel free to suggest names for the starters as well. Puns, delightful jokes and D for Dwarf names are all acceptable. ;D

I'll be starting the game in a couple hours; if the vote stays between Golem and Meganium, I'll be doing a coin toss.

The tie was down to Meganium and Golem, so I flipped a coin and it ended up being Meganium!

Zigzagoon was a Fire type as well, so my moves were worrisome, but thankfully two Signal Beams killed it. Not a bad moveset; Signal Beam is one of the better Gen III Bug-type moves out there and Minimize could be fun if my luck wasn't garbage.

Covered in bugs and works well in every situations; that's our Meganium.
Would have liked to have asked for nicknames, but again, it'd be just a hassle to stop every update at 'what do we name this Pokemon?' so I'll just take suggestions for all of my Pokemon until we get to the Name Rater and then I can ask for input.

Blah blah go find daughter May blah blah

Rash nature; extra Special Attack which we probably don't need, and less Special Defense. Pretty bleh.

Holding a Yellow Shard; that'll definitely be useful. Definitely.

And now we fight May!

Oh, never mind, sorry; we fight Nurse Jimmy who has a Caterpie.

A Dark-type Caterpie with a defense stat of 13, I might add.

Aw, they don't randomize the Potion you get from this guy either. :(

An essential tool of any Nuzlocker; the Potion.

Also, this randomizer allows me to run indoors like in the later games. Whoopee!

And our first Pokemon on the first route is...

Dark-type
Sturdy Ability
HP - 59
ATK - 82
DEF - 122
SP.A - 123
SP.D - 19
SPD - 50

Overall pretty solid, but if he gets hit with a special attack, he's dead.

Thankfully, Leech Life is weak enough.

And now we try to catch it!

Took only 2 tries. 8)

Again a placeholder. My friends and I always had a joke about Macho Man being called Nacho Man instead. We were stupid, I know. We had nothing to talk about.

I have the moves updated to Gen VI power, so Knock Off is not entirely useless; we'll be wanting to keep Thief though, Thief is immensely useful in randomizers like this where Pokemon can be holding TMs or other cool stuff.

Also, in Nuzlockes, there is no shame in healing 24/7. I think this is the first time I actually used the home healing point when I think about it. I just had to hope it actually existed.

Gimme gimme gimme-

Our second Pokemon to encounter is...

Fighting-type
Sand Stream ability
HP - 86
ATK - 39
DEF - 65
SP.A - 59
SP.D - 72
SPE - 41

Pretty meh overall, but we can make it work, right?

Oh jesus christ-

OH JESUS CHRIST-

Noooo :(

I thought I was lucky with the Leech Life getting a crit, then sandstorm and Submission recoil killed it off... Bummer.

Maybe we'll have better luck here?

Ground/Normal-type
Swift Swim or Overgrow Ability
HP - 67
ATK - 77
DEF - 76
SP.A - 17
SP.D - 44
SPE - 11

Not bad, not bad, main weakness is in its special attack which we wouldn't need, and Speed which can be troublesome but manageable.

Caught it without much fuss!

Again; temporary name until I get suggestions by the time we reach the Name Rater. I remember when I first saw Toothless I was bugging everyone I knew by saying he should have been called "Teethless".

Earthquake? Holy jesus, that's delicious.

But please don't die before we can even get to a gym leader :(

Aw, cute, he thinks he has Bug-type Pokemon.

He has a Grass-type Staryu with Zap Cannon. Sure.

I try to see if Smog is useful at all; not really. Only does a quarter of its HP.

JESUS

Thank god I switched into a Bug-type, though.

Oh, and he has a Rock/Flying Scyther with 120 Attack. Could have been screwed, but thankfully it used Return instead of anything else. Hooray for plump helmets!

I Minimize to avoid everything and then Signal Beam it to death. Not sure what that sliver of damage it did was, though...

Ew no

And his next Pokemon goes down instantly.

And his next Pokemon scares me. Doom Desire is such a scary-sounding move :(

Monch, cronch

I love Earthquake.

Randomized items! Soothe Bell isn't very helpful at the moment, but if we run into a Friendship-evolving Pokemon that could be useful, right?

Pretty sure I don't have one of those but ok :-\

Let's help Wally catch his first Pokemon! He should be fine!

You're doing great, Wally!

Wait, your name is Baltoy? YOU LIED TO ME.

Wally are you okay

...

Wally?

...

Um... oh, hey, new route!

jumped the gun on the screenshot, sorry
Dragon/Electric Type
Clear Body/Water Veil Ability
HP -  61
ATK - 75
DEF - 24
SP.A - 58
SP.D - 42
SPE - 64

Okay, so it's like Zekrom Lite. I can deal with this.

Woop woop!

I had a hard time deciding a placeholder on this one.

Crummy moveset, but we can fix that. Dragon Dance and Dragon Claw are always nice, though!

This Fisherman can be bringer of doom if he gets a legendary, since he holds a level 9.

Fortunately, it's nothing much.

And MAGNETS gets to replace Dragon Breath with the only thing I would have used that move for anyway!

Later on, we fight that Lady with a Full Restore outside of Petalburg Woods; remember her? I still hate her to this day.

But now, she came in handy. Told you Thief would be useful!

Aw yis

Stupid 'bug catcher' burned my MAGNETS >:( Oh well, at least he probably won't have-

JESUS CHRIST

JESUS CHRIST.

Thank god it really just had defense and no kind of attacking stats...

OH COME ON

Thankfully he was but a Poison type. Yay!

After healing up from that ordeal, time to see our first Pokemon in the woods!

Fire/Water Type
Compoundeyes/Drought Ability
HP - 109
ATK - 45
DEF - 47
SP.A - 25
SP.D - 119
SPE - 115

Never really was a fan of Mr. Mime, though I dig the Volcanion aesthetic. Those attacking stats suck, though.

You're still mine!

Not the kind of HFS you want to see.

Not bad!

Not gonna find any of those here bud

JUGGLER SCOTT. ALL BOW TO HIS MIGHT AND HIS

SENTRET.

Well, that was very climactic.

Calling it a night here :) Next update, hopefully we'll beat Roxanne and she won't pull out a team full of legendaries.

Time for a new update!

Oh come on we just started :(

At least we're finding some good items! The Protein goes on Plump Helmet by virtue of being a Bug-type attacker.

Did I mention Compoundeyes is super underrated? Probably because it was only used on Pokemon that never were able to really use it, like Butterfree. But now I have the power!

Absolutely Not. Fun Stuff's moveset is basically the only thing it's got going for it at the moment!

I messed up on screenshotting, but I love what this randomizer does; if you change the TMs, it changes the dialogue. This guy was talking about spitting seeds and he gives you Bullet Seed, but instead he went "TM09 contains Spite. What does that have to do with spitting seeds? Nothing, of course!"

Spite isn't that useful though, but I put it on Nacho Man for filler.

Nacho Man's main thing is stealing, though. Another nugget! And it came from the other rich NPC asshole that used a Full Restore this early in the game!

Time for a new Pokemon! And it's a...

Poison/Dragon-type
Rock Head Ability
HP - 85
ATK - 67
DEF - 84
SP.A - 42
SP.D - 67
SPE - 74

Oh shit, nice!

Of course, the one time I don't want Signal Beam to actually confuse. :(

Pretty damn terrifying considering it continued to confuse itself with Outrage, but I caught it!

It's not easy coming up with Dwarf Fortress references to nickname these guys. Again, I promise I will take nickname suggestions.

I always refuse to buy Pokeballs in bulk. I always forget what games give free Premier Balls and I don't take chances.

New Pokemon! What amazing specimen could it be?

Rock-type
Marvel Scale/Hustle Ability
HP - 62
ATK - 12
DEF - 34
SP.A - 35
SP.D - 12
SPE - 40

...Seriously? That's... terrible.

But a Pokemon's a Pokemon.

It's not even a Bug-type. It lied to me. I should have named it Rocky. But that would have also implied it was Fighting-type, too. Which would not have done it or that piddly attack stat any favors.

Meh.

Oh, shit!

There's only one move I want Teethless using.

FULL POWER

He may be only learning Ground-type moves, but god damn is he good at them.

YOU THINK THAT WILL PROTECT YOU PUNY MAN

YOU THOUGHT WRONG

Love it.

Stealing the kitty's milk bowl.

God damn, Nacho Man, why do you have such an itch to steal shit? Not that I'm complaining, but this is the second stealing move you've gotten.

Wonderful STAB move is wonderful.

Oh shit, Soul Dew? Imagine if we caught a Latios or Latias; we'd be set for life. Too bad that won't happen.
I almost skipped over Rusturf Tunnel for that Soul Dew; let's preemptively get our Pokemon there before the Aqua grunt shows up.

Who could it be?

Wanna guess?

Seriously, guess.

RAW MOTHERFUCKING LATIOS. PRAISE BE TO ARMOK AND THE MINERS.

Sometimes I think to myself in Pokemon that my luck is shitty. And sure, it may be shitty at times. But when shit like this happens, when you literally get a Soul Dew and find a Latios not five seconds later, can one say my luck is truly shitty?

I refuse to take any chances. I got a minimum catch rate set on it and I am not killing this thing. I refuse to kill it. I am going to catch this thing legit.

FUCK
YEAH

Ice Type
Drought/Guts Ability
HP - 151
ATK - 53
DEF - 126
SP.A - 155
SP.D - 68
SPE - 47

Those stats. LOOK AT THEM. This thing will facefuck the entire Earth with its ungodly powerful Special Attack. Boosted by Gen III Soul Dew. That's basically a 232.5 Special Attack stat.

Such a treasure only deserves to be named after our God.

Jesus fucking christ.

You know what? Let's go take on the Gym right now. We can kick some major ass.

Sorry, Fun Stuff, you did your best but your attacking stats are just kind of... eh.

It's time.

Bitch, I got God on my side; what are you gonna do?

Okay, so I forgot Armok was slightly underleveled, but what are you gonna do, right?

Haha wow you're patheti-

OH NO SHIT-

Jesus christ that was close!

Thankfully, now that MAGNETS. has full HP, we can take down the-

...

...

...MAGNETS.?

...MotherFUCKER.

Armok was able to avenge MAGNETS., but... god damn it.

Not too bad; situational, but not too bad.

Don't youuu... forget about meee...

Okay, Fun Stuff, you can come back in. After all, we need all the help we can get...

For we avenge MAGNETS. tonight.

*TRUMPETS INTENSIFIES*

What is a god to a nonbeliever?

I was gonna obliterate it and laugh at its pile of ashes, but god damn I must have used up my luck getting Armok.

Thankfully, Armok does not fuck around.

FOR THE GLORY OF DWARFKIND

Armok is displeased with these infidels.

Crap; did not expect it to use Rollout. Thankfully for us, Rollout is inaccurate and this isn't Whitney's Miltank, so we should be fin-

...

Let's not?

LET'S NOT?

...

God damn it! Bogeywoman was just caught this update :(

Thankfully, I don't think it has any more Rollouts, and if it did, it surely has to miss by now, right?

SHIT

Two Pokemon lost to this bullshit Scyther. Two.

It was our lucky stars that it had Color Change, so normally as a Rock/Flying type it would have quad-resisted Signal Beam, but as a Dark type as Nacho Man's final act, Plump Helmet could finish it. Your final act of courage was not wasted, Nacho Man.

YOU SLAUGHTER MY PEOPLE, AND YOU KNOW WHAT I SAY TO YOUR POISON/ELECTRIC ASS?

CHOICE BAND ON YOUR 4X WEAKNESS.

I rest my case.

This does not satisfy me.

This still does not satisfy me.

Didn't anyone teach you not to walk in the middle of a funeral procession?

Don't youuuu...

Forget about meeee...

Don't, don't, don't, don't, don't...

Don't youuuu... forget about meeee...

Hey, remember this thing I abandoned so long ago? Let's continue it! I'm reviving a bunch of my projects and I'm ready to revive this one.

So, I have good news, bad news, and even worse news.

Bad news is, I lost the original ROM.

Worse news is, this means no more Soul Dew Armok. Please feel free to punish me by baking me above lava mist as I get whipped into a fine meaty paste by naked elves.

Good news is, at least we don't have to deal with Wormy ever again (hopefully).

I pray for Armok's blessing once more as we restart. Once more, I will be counting on you all to determine my starter for me.

Dark Type
Levitate Ability
HP - 86
ATK - 76
DEF - 72
SP.A - 89
SP.D - 34
SPE - 49

I had one of these when I recently attempted a Emerald Nuzlocke, just vanilla. He was the biggest boss motherfucker there was... until he and the rest of my team wiped on goddamn Norman. Either way, looks like a solid choice.

Rock Type
Trace Ability
HP - 122
ATK - 38
DEF - 32
SP.A - 143
SP.D - 65
SPE - 95

Well, it's... interesting. Rock type with terrible Attack and amazing Special Attack... it could be maybe worth using if it learns anything decently special attacking. Otherwise, it dies to a single Fighting-type move.

Either way, better than...

Rock/Fire Type (yes, the one typing worse than Ice/Flying)
Color Change Ability (haha)
HP - 36
ATK - 22
DEF - 54
SP.A - 22
SP.D - 108
SPE - 87

I will find and kill all of you, shut down this LP and never look back if you elves pick this for me because picking this might as well be a giant game over.

Go ahead and choose.

Well, I had planned to slow-cook this LP for a bit to let people choose, but... ah, what the heck, I'm feeling a bit too excited to play this. Sorry, guys! Don't worry, I'll have plenty of choices for everyone down the road.

My friends were yelling at me to pick Marshtomp, but sorry, I have to go with my dwarves on this one, and Puppyguard was the one voter choosing Omastar (with a pretty nice analysis, I like looking at analysis...es? Analysi? Analyses? Who knows). Either way, I was kind of looking at Omastar myself...

...so it looks like we'll be using Omastar! Of course it gets a painfully overspecialized movepool, but what can you do?

First and most likely last time I'll ever use Rollout considering how dangerous it can be to your Pokemon since they get locked into it... unless you're a stupid Scyther... grumble grumble.

Our starter Warpstone (I'll probably attempt to not do as many DF references this time unless I get a really good one, but I had to name the starter one at least, even if it's Masterwork-exclusive) starts off with Trace, and Careful nature, which... could be worse I guess, Omastar is tanky and does want the Special Defense, but Special Attack... then again, it might be a while until we get any decent Special moves on this thing.

He also came with a TM, that contains...

...Oh, that's pretty sick. Too bad Warpstone can't learn it; not like I'll teach it anyway.

I don't implement Nuzlocke rules until we get Pokeballs, but first route had a lot of trash Pokemon...

Really trash Pokemon (it was just Bug-type).

Some trash Pokemon attempted to be saved from the trash bin, but it didn't really work out for them.

May's route, however, had a lot more interesting Pokemon. (Still died in one hit, it was Dark/Flying)

I grind up a few levels...

AND IT WAS A BATTLE FOR THE AGES.

Then Warpstone got the Ancientpower boost, and it was pretty much over.

So, first route, first Pokemon! I don't have really high hopes, since we encountered that Poochyena, Slugma, and a Spinarak I never screenshotted, but I'm not expecting much for our first encounter!

SWEET JESUS.

Grass Type
Hyper Cutter/Trace Ability
HP - 119
ATK - 71
DEF - 70
SPE - 95
SP.A - 53
SP.D - 123

Damn, it's one hell of a wall! Special Attack is left to be desired, but that's a small price to pay!

It had a Super Effective move...

...but we got it first try!

I updated moves to their S&M variants, so Giga Drain is actually useful! Hooray!

Eh, I wouldn't have taught her Sludge Bomb anyway...

Our next encounter is...

Oh, sweet!

Normal Type
White Smoke Ability
HP - 92
ATK - 65
DEF - 95
SPE - 123
SP.A - 63
SP.D - 77

Not the most impressive, but I still want it!

...I forgot to buy more Pokeballs, but I have 4, so we can do our best!

We'll just have to try to catch it at yellow, then...

Damn it.

Damn it!

DAMN IT!

Armok, bless my last ball!

DAMN IT!

...Really? Just to taunt me, you're gonna pull out the best boosting move in this game?... Thanks.

Damn it!

LET'S NOT MAKE THAT MISTAKE AGAIN.

Warpstone is a bit overpowered, so I decide to try and get some levels on The Wall so that she can do some better damage...

...Or she would, if Seviper weren't Flying-type.

But hey, she still jumped two levels!

Next encounter! I won't ask for anything better since I got that awesome Walrein, but I'm fine as long as it's not-

...No...

...NO!

NOOOO!!!

I WATCHED YOU DIE TWICE ALREADY!!! ONCE IN MY LOST SAVE FILE, AND THE OTHER WHEN NORMAN WIPED MY TEAM!!! WHY WON'T YOU JUST LEAVE ME ALONE, DAMN IT!?

Electric/Dark Type
Marvel Scale/Soundproof Ability
HP - 53
ATK - 29
DEF - 30
SPE - 34
SP.A - 31
SP.D - 17

Ohhh... it sucks... it sucks so bad...

Just kill it. Just kill it; it won't ever see the light of day...

NOOO! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? THAT'S THE WRONG MOVE, WALL!

BUT IT WAS SO CLOSE TO DYING!!! NOOOO!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate my life. I hate my life so badly.

You learning an inferior grass move doesn't help!

I feel actually obligated to train this awful thing now... maybe Dustox or Beautifly won't be so bad...

 >:(

Don't even feel safe switching it in on a damn Bug-type Qwilfish...

Found a Big Pearl, at least!

WHY DOES THIS GAME TAUNT ME!?

I want Armok back :(

Yeah, yeah, let's get this over with...

Oh, jeez, Wally, that Tackle was a bit overkill, but at least you can catch it now!

Uh, Wally, that's not how you-

...Uh... okay?

...What? You didn't catch shit! You killed it in cold blood! You laughed as you watched that Zigzagoon maul it to death! I can still see the Zigzagoon feasting on its innards- oh, God, I thought I was getting away from Dwarf Fortress!

HE DIDN'T CATCH SHIT!

Maybe I'll find something good here to actually properly catch...

Hey, not bad! Maybe- wait...

Electric/Ice Type
Magma Armor Ability
HP - 50
ATK - 145
DEF - 105
SPE - 53
SP.A - 49
SP.D - 38

Okay, that's pretty damn good. In fact, that is so damn good... you know how I randomized abilities?

Slaking won't have Truant.

Get in.

(Naive Nature, more speed and less special defense, pretty nice) I was expecting it to have Electric and Ice moves that really didn't capitalize on that amazing attack, but holy shit! We're gonna be rolling in dead bodies tonight!

Nope, still no Sludge Bomb...

Hey! I'm the only one here who can Trace! Get your own ability!

How the tables have turned. 8)

Oh god, oh god, oh god, oh god-

Oh.

Thought I made a big bad mistake by switching in on it, but it all worked out.

Petalburg Woods! What will we find here?

Well, at least it's not Wurmple.

Ghost Type
Magnet Pull/Trace Ability (what's with all the Pokemon knowing Trace?)
HP - 78
ATK - 52
DEF - 81
SPE - 74
SP.A - 63
SP.D - 57

You'll do fine.

It's a Ghost-type that knows Hyper Voice. It's literally screaming for me to put it out of its misery.

Too bad! It's indentured servitude time!

Once again, reminder that these nicknames are all usually temporary and I will allow as many suggestions to nicknames as wanted. I figured I would name it after what it was screaming. That movepool is damn nice, though!

And now that we got a Ghost-type...

Haha!

JESUS CHRIST.

I feel bad for everything else now.

Jesus christ, finally... If you don't evolve into a nuclear tank, I'll cover you in sugarless gummy and sell you on Amazon.

Electric/Poison Type
Truant Ability
HP - 36
ATK - 56
DEF - 26
SPE - 17
SP.A - 14
SP.D - 56

Okay, I kind of like Dustox, so- WAIT.

WAIT WHAT THE FUCK.

NO, SHUT UP. GO BACK. WHAT.

................

GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT

YOU DON'T EVEN DESERVE TO BE WITH THE OTHERS

AND STAY THERE FOREVER.

Well, glossing over that awful mistake...

ARE YOU MOCKING ME, GAME?

ARTISAN TIA. ALL BOW TO HIS MIGHT AND HIS

UNOWN.

Which is also Steel-type.

No, you're just terrible.

Next time; we take on Roxanne and hopefully she won't have a Scyther...

Looks good so far, I am curious however what Dustox's stats could be.
Cascoon's truant and just its stats in general really suck though.
I suppose if you wanted to evolve it you could get an exp share and level it up with that.

Looks good so far, I am curious however what Dustox's stats could be.
Cascoon's truant and just its stats in general really suck though.
I suppose if you wanted to evolve it you could get an exp share and level it up with that.

(Stats: HP / ATK / DEF / SPE / SP.A / SP.D)

It wouldn't even be completely unsalvageable if it didn't have Truant...
