Right now there really isn't much you can do. You could potentially ask other lords for tribute and recruit people to be your hearthpeople but otherwise its somewhat pointless.

Being a lord/lady is added to your reputation. I don't know that it benefits you, but it'll always be mentioned when you ask someone about yourself.
