How to make a creature drop something along with their regular corpse?

The something in question is a custom metal, but I don't know if I can make them drop multiple bars along with the regular corpse itself.

The way I do it is through an extra butcher object, check out gizzard stones for an example, my phoenix when butchered drops rubies and a phoenix heart. Haven't tried it but pretty sure the same can be done with bars etc.
