Two more shapes loom out of the mist, at a flat run towards the barn.

With a quick burst of laser fire, you cripple the western figure and dash to meet the other two.

This time, they manage to dodge out of the way, the first doing a combat roll and the other sidestepping your shot. You can see their figures more clearly as the charge towards the house; heavyset men, in pitch black helmets and body armor, with conventional ballistic weapons.

You hear a pounding sound coming from the eastern door.

Their fast pace makes them trivially easy to pick off, and with two simple sweeps of the laser they crumple to the ground. Easy peasy.

You creep over to the doorway, and peek around the corner...

Suddenly, you are suddenly and unexpectedly met met by the butt of a rife directly into your face!

You see a huge crack in your helmet as you stumble back, and start firing blindly at the figure in front of you!

Fortunately, in your daze you manage to fire a few shots at the armored figure, and it slumps to the ground.

pick up the dropped rifle and use it to gun down the two back at southside. Try to patch my helmet if I have supplies on hand to do so.

Take a break from gunning down distant targets and switch to my ballistic rifle so that I can start gunning down closer, more urgent targets.
