Vahn noticed Yuri looking around.

"These young mercenaries are really earning their lot. All of them are quite strong on their own, but they make a good team."

The warlock put away his club and made a show of pulling the two arrows from his chest. He had showed a bit of weakness a second ago, and now it was time to restore his reputation. He dropped the projectiles to the side carelessly.

"You and your men did a fine job too. We'll interrogate those men presently, as soon as we get our own patched up."

Seraphiel is laying on the ground on his back, with the two arrows still sticking on the front of his chest.

"...H-hey Vahn. Could you help me stand up? That last hit... Kinda left me out of breath... I'm fine, I just need to reach Anna and..."

He grabs and tries to pull the pair of arrows on his chest like Vahn did, but fails due to his wounds.

"Oh... I might need a little help with this, too..."

Vahn knelt by Seraphiel.

"I've got you. This is going to hurt."

He placed one hand on Seraphiel's shoulder to keep him down, then pulled the arrows out individually with his other. The young healer hadn't been quite as lucky as Vahn had, but he was still lucky enough that they wouldn't be mortal wounds - at least, not as long as they were tended to soon. Once the arrows were cast aside, Vahn hooked Seraphiel's closer arm over his shoulder and stood, helping the younger man keep his balance and stay on his feet for the moment.

"Here, take a drag from this. It'll be all right as long as you don't smoke much; it'll numb the pain and let you do what you need to do."

He offered the roll-up to the troubadour.

Braoul ties his bandana back on before Yuri can see anything. He then dismounts his horse and walks to where Yuri and Vahn were talking.
If you don't mind I'd like to take point on the interrogation. Defending this town is meaningless if it'll just happen again. By the time I'm done with these bandits no one will so much as insult Kovitz ever again.
The Man known as The Jackal is noticeably unharmed. Not a single scratch adorns his skin or a single rip in his clothes. In fact he looks better than he did in the morning. There is newfound determination in his eyes. A Steely determination

"Well, that's that." Grelen sighs and grabs his medicine and bandages, setting off to help Seraphriel. His grin from the battle remains, though it is overtaken by a pensive gaze.

"Jackal, how are you feeling?"

In any case it would be a battle of critical thinking and I refuse to fight an unarmed individual.

Seraphiel manages to stand up with Vahn's help, and uses his free hand to hold his staff as a walking stick. He rejects the roll-up.

"I told you I'm fine, Vahn... The pain isn't that b-bad, and you need those more than I."

"...Besides, I think the smoke would probably cause more harm than the arrows in the long run. I'm really going to need to find a solution to that soon..."

"Yeah... It's probably for the best you don't start on the stuff."

Vahn sighed. He just hoped the young healer wasn't getting his hopes up for nothing... but on the other hand, the boy would have to learn that hard lesson sooner or later; it just wasn't possible to save everyone. If nothing else, maybe their brief friendship would teach him to treasure what he had while it lasted. Grelen was coming over with medical supplies, and Vahn nodded to him.

"Let's worry about Seraphiel first. Once everyone can walk, we're going back to town. And then I think it might be time to teach the Jackal some of my... advanced interrogation techniques, since we'll have someone we can practice them on."

You may have noticed, but I didn't actually get hit for the entire fight. It seems my tribe was watching over me. Otherwise, I feel fine. No, not just fine, I'm excellent. I have achieved my vengeance and I feel like I'm starting a new chapter. A happier one. If I have all my friends with me, I'm sure we can make the world a better place!

"Ah, don't worry so much. This hasn't been the first time, really... I'll just... Need a bit of rest."

Seraphiel breathes heavily as he gives the battlefield a look.

"...Huh. We really did just kill a whole army by ourselves. So many bodies, it might take us an entire day..."

"But first, I should take care of our own side. Please help me move closer to Anna... You know, she isn't like us and needs healing way more urgently than I."

In the final breaths of the battle, Anna had been brought down. Conscious enough to guide Pyre down to earth, she fell off her pegasus upon impact and hit the ground with the side of her body that hadn't a gaping wound of the halberds blade. The adrenalin in her blood masked the pain of the wound, but couldn't cover the sheer exhaustion.

Wow...

Jaromer picked his way towards his downed comrade over the ragged line of bodies that marked where they had made their stand. There was a dull throb in his side where the magic had hit him, but he ignored it-- that sort of thing came with the territory, and he wasn't the one with a hole in his side.

"Hold on, Anna, Seraphial's on his way over."

Domenico approached Seraphiel and gives him a hand and a heal.

: You did good here, better than I could imagine. I have the feeling our troubles will be over today.

After that, he helped him over to Anna and healed her as well, continuing to restore everyone to a healthy state as they returned to town.

They were welcome with cheers from the townspeople, as the biggest assault Kovitz had faced had been repelled without too much of a problem. But Yuri still has something to say.

: There will be time for celebrations later, the day isn't over yet. We'll have to bury the bodies and most importantly, we have someone to interrogate.

Yuri lead the group aside where the bandits taken prisoner were being moved to the jailhouse, except for one, who was taken in front of them.

: Would you do the honor to start? Yuri let someone else start the interrogation.

"Of course."

Vahn approached the bandit.

"Look at me and know my name. I am Vahn Brannon. If you don't tell us what we want to know, I will hurt you in as many different ways as I know how, until you are begging me to allow you to leave for Hell because the devil will be much kinder to you than I am."

Yuri and his men must have had knocked the sense off the bandit while capturing him because he answered only one thing:

I ain't sayin' nothin' about nothin'!

"All right. We'll start with something easy."

He glanced over his shoulder.

"The ladies may wish to leave the room. This sort of thing isn't for their eyes."

Turning back to the bandit, he drew a knife and stuck the tip under the nail of the man's left index finger... then drew his club and hammered it in.

"I am going to do this to every finger to start with. Then I will use this club to break each finger, joint by joint, and if you are still stubborn I will start cutting them off with this knife, piece by piece. And you will live through all of this because we have a healer present to make sure that you do."
