The bandit screamed when the knife went under his fingernail while Yuri watched impassible.

Not being trained to resist this kind of interrogation, after a few more screams and moans of pain the bandit cracked.

The bandit took a second to breathe and started talking.

Magruder doesn't have a camp, his base is in a cave at the base of the mountains. That's why no one's found him yet, there's many caves there and they're all worthless.

The bandit continued by explaining how he and the other gang members reached Kovitz from Magruder's mountain base.

The bandit squirmed under Vahn's gaze.

From the outside? N-nothing... At most you'd notice the ground is a bit more walked on. Inside it's a different story. The place is excavated like a fortress!

The bandit's agitation increased even further.

I-I swear it's like that! It doesn't look different than any other cave, you just find it if you follow my directions! It just opens up like a sleepy eye at the base of the mountain.

Vahn continued to stare for several more seconds before raising his head slightly and lowering the knife again.

"I'm choosing to believe you only because if you're lying, you know that I know where to find you. And I can do much, much worse to you than the small amount I've already demonstrated. Or... maybe I'll just give you to the Jackal. He's my apprentice, you see, and he's just itching to show people like you why they should fear him too."

No, the wyverns and the nomads were other groups he hired to help. He's still got his lieutenants with him there. I don't know them, they only show their faces to their own underlings. My boss is Karras, a guy who could plant a knife in each of your eyes before you could raise a weapon against him.

How many entrances are there? Roughly how many men do you estimate are there at present? Does he have any more people coming to attack?
