Is there a way to make a material as hot as dragonfire?

I want to give my draconian race (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=164946.0) really hot swords and spears (keep your mind out of the refuse stockpile!) but [MAT_FIXED_TEMP:50000]
doesn't do anything. Link to the incomplete material: https://pastebin.com/GVy1B2nC

It is that hot. Try dropping it on grass.

Nope, just tested it. Dropped it on grass. Behaves like any ordinary sword.

Yeah, temperature in Dwarf Fortress is weird. Items don't seem to actually calculate temperature under most circumstances, but creatures do for some reason.
