modding miniature workshops/buildings
« on: July 28, 2017, 09:52:44 pm »

I'm trying to figure out if it would be possible to split the current tiles into 1/4s, and create miniature workshops/buildings so I could place more than one of them in the typical dwarf fortress tile. BUT, only for certain embarks, most likely with a much smaller race. Maybe making larger creatures have a tough time entering the fort. So if you were to walk around outside of fortress mode you would only be able to enter if you were a certain size.   Am I crazy? Probably. But I would love some direction.

Edit: maybe adding a 0.5 z-level?

I'm also still trying to figure out a better way of explaining myself haha

through raw modding? no
through memory hacking? no
through forking your own version of dwarf fortress with stolen source code? ...probably not actually, it might be faster to code your own game from the very beginning

Thanks man, I didn't think so. I was looking at implementing an ant like race, that was significantly smaller and used a smaller embark.
