We are an abomination not of this world and he is some kind of paladin that is part of a force dedicated to destroying us at all costs.

Mercy is insane at this point.  The only mercy he deserves is a quick death.

Put one of us in the body, strip out memories if we have to, and then ask the cultists for more details about things, lets at least be honest and say we do not understand the vast powers we have.  Maybe say that last part to the head cultist only.

Also, referring to us as "voices" is insensitive and conveys weakness.

Okay.. so spare him and put him back in his body or put one of us in there, making him an abomination with one of us is not mercy.

A swift death would be more merciful then turning him into that which he hates.
