Steam rises from his nostrils at this. He growls, “These terms are not to my liking, but my generals are afraid, and worry we do not have the strength to beat them. What are your thoughts on the matter?”
"Masamune and I- we will hold the fort and study as much as we can. We have studied as much in retrospect."

Amelia then mentions her last resort plan regarding the fortress--if it would fall, given her year's work on it, it would be disastrous for anyone who had not lived in the area for an extensive period of time; she had 'keyed' in familiarity using her knowledge of biology from her Doctor skill, that would end in mayhem and explosion alongside requiring a manual trigger.

"We also...through our brothers, have information regarding what may occur with important people within your ranks. Otherwise, the Sindari do not plan or think about leaving you or your people. You have seen our culture, our origins, our people, and our lands through trade and exposure. We hold thought alien to the Cisharni, and their power lies mainly in their logistics--teleporters and teleblockers. You may also pull back your Generals, we can cover their retreat, as I will in defense of the Fang; I will ensure that there is a way for evacuation, instead of death in vain."

She lets Octavian fill the gaps about the Nexuses instead, and awaits his answer, all the while being very aware about Turangol's situation.

The Dragon considered their words, and shook his head. “You tell me you may hold the fort in one breath and in the next tell me that you have prepared to destroy it. After it is destroyed, then what? Let their armies and disease ravage the land, taking what they asked for and more? Tell me otherwise if you believe me mistaken!”

"After it is destroyed, we fall back to the second lines, all the while preparing a counter-strike on their logistics after having studied their teleportation networks. The diseases are connected, at least in my assumption, to the one called Apollo--a gilded general leading their armies. They cause wanton destruction and yet levy the burden on us as if we are the cause; this is not so, they speak with the mind of a ravishing conqueror, who cannot hold their lands through stable governance. They have levies who are fearful and lack the morale of our troops. While this is the front line, you have the support of nations much more powerful in potential than they have, and their lines are being stretched. We will not leave your people alone; we can and will relocate those in danger from the front line. Preparations are being planned as we speak.
"As for planning--we have several options, one of which will happen regardless. Armor, for yourself, Emperor. Much like Apollo is a Cisharni leading his forces (and actually, the only reason his forces are not breaking under morale), the leaders of the Chinese people fighting in the midst of battle in sight of their fellows inspires strength. With your command, we will extend our smithing lines to avail your officers or other important personnel of what is needed. Aside from that, and the evacuation of the surrounding countryside, we ask your permission for herblore to take place; the trade you have made with Japan, Korea, and the lands I hail from has brought about numerous breeds of healing and agricultural blooms--those to be relocated can stay in areas cultivating them for the meantime, and transplant much back into your lands when the war has seceded. Aside from that, I have prepared knowledge from a Cisharni spy within your lands in the decades prior; she is alive and has been...how you say, 'turned', helping us with information. This includes information valuable to you; not all those within your country are loyal, and this is only because they do not know what the bigger picture they deal with is. Petty bribes, and promises of information, alongside propaganda are prevalent to turn shifting loyalty. Short-term sightedness is the fall of any nation. Their terms are extreme, because they aim to goad others to kneel to their demands. We did not abandon you before--why even think we would start now?

"Now, you see only two of us Sindari before you--we outnumber the Cisharni; this is why they want us out of any lands we are in, because of our influence. Unlike the Cisharni, our power is grows, where theirs do not; we may appear weak, but we are of a time and place beyond mortal knowledge. Our aims are progress, and we wish for you to think this through, rather than dwell on us saying a fortress is lost when we can hold it and going 'against ourselves'. We have earned much through trade; many can learn more from culture.

"In truth, we all want peace, and our terms were all for it--but we do not wish for more to go into their hands only for them to use what they have in stagnation. We know how they run their empire, and ultimately it ends with little benefit for the people in comparison to them; the choice is yours in the end."

The Dragon Emperor slowly shook his head. “You are wise and brave, Sindari, but my responsibility is to protect my people. We will accept their peace deal. The Sindari are our best chance to survive, so we will not abandon you. Become stronger, weaken them from within. When it is time to march, we will march with you.”

He closed his eyes. “The Nexus Points are an incredibly valuable resource. The Pharaoh could do much evil if he was able to access it. However, I cannot allow its destruction for it would cause to much damage to our land. Rivers would dry and life would leave this land. “

“Stay strong, Sindari.”

Turangol woke with a start. The Hunter was nowhere to be seen. Perhaps it was just a dream or vision. He searched his possessions for the soul gem of Eltirian, but he couldn’t find it. His head pained him. A quick scan of the future revealed no danger, but gave no signs of the Hunter.

Dragon’s Tooth remained in the Emperor’s hands, while the Atlantean army withdrew slightly to receive the tribute.

Meanwhile, during the night, Chinese soldiers burst into the room of Masamune. Swords drawn, the 4 of them rushed the now wide awake Sindari.

Amelia turned as 3 soldiers entered her study, interrupting her discussion with local nobles. Their faces were blank and full of terrible purpose.

2 men and a woman approached Octavian as he walked quickly across the battlements. They held up a hand to ask him to stop. They seemed vaguely familiar.

"Good day sirs, to what do I owe this pleasure?" Amelia said casually, appearing in a humble dress (because she was honestly tidying up for the leave come ere dawn).

Hello soldiers!
...How fares my Nu Sindari for the escape?

Masamune, Octavian, I believe I have met our...escort out? Can any of you ensure we have contact and protection on the Emperor?

Octavian comes - leisurely, over the course of a couple seconds - to a stop. Invisible to the oncomers, Acter finds a place where he can blast them all with a ray of pain if the situation should call for it.
Very well. Who are you, what do you need, and why do you need it? Use my Presence to convince them to answer, and my Perception to read between the lines of their responses.

Masamune stood quickly but calmly, settling into a comfortable defensive stance as he took up his blade; he wouldn't allow it to leave his side, of course. "You are fortunate that I am a patient and understanding man," he said to his would-be assassins, even as he moved to intercept the strike of the first. A parry, and a cut; not at the man, but at his weapon. Chinese steel clattered to the floor as his blade, forged into what Masamune considered to be the closest extant thing to perfection, slashed cleanly through the base of the weapon.

The second and third soldier were vanquished at once, with the Lord of the Blacksmiths simply seizing one in his off hand and throwing him bodily into the other, causing both soldiers to clatter to the floor. The first seemed to be recovering from the shock of having his weapon destroyed, so Masamune delivered a kick strong enough to dent the man's chestplate, slamming him into the wall. The Sindari winced; the man should survive, but he couldn't guarantee such a thing; he had neglected his unarmed martial arts. The fourth had his weapon removed in a similar matter to the first. Masamune followed up with a set of blurring cuts; the man's helmet fell apart around him, with only a single tuft of hair floating to the ground alongside the shards. The blade held to his throat made it quite clear what awaited him should he displease Masamune.

As he made preparations for the next steps of his agenda beginning in Year Three, Archaementes continued to listen in on whatever reports the other Sindari sent through the mental network they shared. However, when he'd heard from Amelia that this 'Dragon Emperor' decided to accept the Atlanteans' accursed peace treaty, he knew that he have to do something about this. If the Cisharni and the Chinese stopped fighting each other, the way to Korea, Japan, and the rest of Southeast Asia will be open to them. Though the Atlantean Empire would be stretched thin, it will only be a matter of time before they managed to consolidate their holdings and authority, just as they have to the Mediterranean area, the Middle East, and India. Even if he failed to convince the Dragon Emperor to continue the fight, at least he can help him establish 'plausible deniability' to subversive Sindari activities happening within his empire.

~"Amelia, my dear Sindari sister, allow me to have a word with the Dragon Emperor,"~ he 'spoke' through the mental link. ~"I am quite... adept in persuading all but the most unyielding. Have Octavian teleport me to the Imperial Palace and I will have the emperor see reason."~

I'm a bit tied up with a few soldiers here I guess. I see Masamune took care of his own...somehow. I'm unsure if this is our escort out but it seems a bit testy.

Still! I'm sure Octavian knows now. I still have more to discuss with the Emperor regarding battleplans given his troops thanks to a very certain thought but it may be too late now!

Masamune held the blade to the soldiers throat, not even winded by the display. The man’s eyes held a blankness, and his response was to ram himself into the blade.

Or tried to.

Masamune, seeing his intention, shifted his blade and slammed his elbow into the soldier’s face. With a crunch of cartilage, the man crumpled backwards.

The fight was over. Alarmed guards ran around outside, and stopped at the sight of Masamune standing over the bodies of Chinese warriors.

The three soldiers made no response to Amelia as they approached, and the lead soldier lunges forward with a dagger. Amelia reacted, her arm a blur as she deflected the attack to the side and slipped behind him. The other two drew their swords, their faces blank.

The woman stepped forward. “Know this, Sindari. Surrender your selfs to Atlantis, or our war will create even more rivers of blood and countless pain. Your struggle against us will bear a heavy price if it persists any longer. And it will not be borne by you alone.”
At this the other two soldiers draw their swords, and prepare to fall on their swords. The woman leaps at Octavian, a dagger in her hands.

Amelia's surprise was easily concealed as she had backup plans in store.

"Blank eyes. Your will is not your own!"

She quickly swiped something off her desk and given that nothing of importance was present, yelled the cliche "Guards! Guards!" notice, before sprinting  (slowly) away. Perhaps her Nu-Sindari could do some wingman work, and perhaps some clean up, before they were to teleport out.

She was no speedy person and was only as strong perceptibly as a...very strong soldier-clerk, but she had many preparations in cases like these thanks to foresight and psychology. She used the objects around her to block and throw in the way of her attackers, calling out the word Freedom and China and other things people say when frantically attacked by blank faced men. The first word was code for her Nu-Sindari teleported to meet her at one of the designated points nearby (like inconspicuously behind a corner or a pillar or an enchanted plant-tree) which could mask both the magic and physical disappearance. All these were planned ahead of time, with code spoken in poetic hysterics.

She was glad she took up the arts and acting. She inferred that perhaps, maybe, those soldiers were eyes of whoever held thrall over them. It had to be overtly mundane...

Amelia uses no form of display that she's a Sindari but aims to disarm and disable them.
She grabs one of her recording disks and calls upon her Nu-Sindari to teleport her out of there (preferably to the Emperor) alongside the scout commander to take care of these men or investigate what had happened.

Hello proof for the emperor for dirty tactics!

Rulers make decisions for the people. Pressed between his capabilities and the common man; we would have decided the same if it were our own and against...some foreign alien power.

That said, Masamune? Get those teleblocker countermeasures charged!

Dodge. Their skill with weapons cannot compare to my skill at survival. Continue until my opponents are winded.
Furthermore, call attention to the situation, so that others can see what has happened, and get one of those recording disks Amelia mentioned.

~"Would we?"~ came back the answer. It sounded incredulous. ~"Fortunately, our enemies seek to rule rather than turning this world into a hellish realm, unlike one of their number. Then again, if an alien power does in fact want to turn this world into a living nightmare then a dying defiance could be the only thing keeping us from a fate worse than death..."~

"They should survive, though it may be wise to consult a healer anyway." Masamune belted his weapon to his side - ensuring he showed the lack of blood on it in the process. "It seems our honorable Cisharni cousins have chosen to leave us some parting gifts at your people's expense. These men were compelled into attacking me while I slept; it seems the Inquisitor wished to send a message, more than anything else." The smith looked down, a slight look of shame playing across his face. "I am sorry that this seems to be the way of things."
