Hath the science been done?
« on: August 10, 2017, 11:20:38 pm »

I had a vampire sitting in my fortress, in a state of melancholy, staring at the roof after failing a mood... But, what happens during their time of the month for weres, if they're melancholic? Do you suddenly get a wereiquana sitting there in utter shock, or do they still rampage? Do they return to the state once untransformed, or do they go back to normal?

If any of them are made of fire, throw stuff, run, and think non-flammable thoughts.

I think they go on normal rampage, and retain their melancholy status when they turn back.

The closest thing Bay12 has to a flamewar is an argument over philosophy that slowly transitioned to an argument about quantum mechanics.

The trick is to only make predictions semi-seriously.  That way, I don't have a 98% failure rate. I have a 98% sarcasm rate.

You've almost got to feel sorry for the melancholy vampire. As long as you keep them away from goblins, magma or tall cliffs, they'll live forever in a constant state of moping.

The guy was a weaponsmith too, just... He liked morningstars, but wanted sterling silver, which we don't have...

It has happened, don't recall the result, but even if they wouldn't attack your citizens they'd be still attacked due being a werebeast.

They ought to behave as "normal" since it's the regular soul that's depressed, not the crazed for blood one.

Ah, so mental states don't directly transfer to the were form. That's too bad, was thinking it'd be interesting to see a were stand in emotional shock.

So how do you tell them apart from any other vampire, then?

1 make a vampire factory

2 use a tavern to attract members of other of civs

3 lock visitors in the fort

4 if a visitor becomes a vampire let them go if not let the citizen's feast

5 !!FUN!!

Wow, DF even simulates Anne Rice novels!  This game continues to impress me with how deep the simulation goes.
