Ok, so Blue, which of our guys is The Scrounger? Because there better be at least one.

Uh, just what would you expect out of this person?

Is this game really just going to become me and Glass quoting tropes at each other?

Right now? Chalk. Or paper. Or something to that effect.

If they found anything worth reporting on, I want a map.

Time to write something.

Right now? Chalk. Or paper. Or something to that effect.

If they found anything worth reporting on, I want a map.

Maybe the parrot.

A the report, and say to then for being fast yes or no

I'll just take this, in lieu of talking to Glass any more.

"Uh, hold on," says Celling, talking into the communicator with Goonswarm. He turns to the person that just arrived. "What did you find?"

"No secret entrances," he says, gesturing at the door. "That's the only way in."

"Storm it," Celling orders. The soldier salutes and walks away. "What's up, Mittens?"

"...I would surmise it is useless to ask where you got that name?"

"Forget that. Anything to say?"

"It may have come to your attention that the rebels have obtained prophetic assistance of their own, and that fits the trope of The Smart Guy.

“It has.”

Therefore our trope-based argument for why he’ll join them is now nihl,” he says. “Therefore we don’t see any reason to withhold further information that may lead to the elimination of this particular group.

“What information do you have?” Celling asks.

We know who the enemy Protinam is,” explains the Mittani.

What?” asks David Eborrenial, chiming in over the radio.

There is a silence. “...how did you get this channel?” asks the Mittani.

Take a wild guess, genius,” Eborrenial responds. “I just had a feeling that bringing a decoder set to this frequency along would yield something interesting. Now what do you know?

There is another silence. “...alright. Twenty years ago Goonswarm began research into a method of artificially infusing an individual with the genes responsible for your ability to access the time stream.

You GENETICALLY ENGINEERED A VISIONARY?!?!

Yes. By inserting the relevant genes into the zygote post-fertilization-”

Are you actually kidding me? Which alleles!

There was a pause as the Mittani consults a paper of some sort. “Two copies of what you would call the ABD-2 sequence.

That’s a dominant double-lethal trait,” David responds flatly. “An individual with one copy exhibits Protinam powers. An individual with both shouldn’t even survive to birth-

And apparently, the lethal effects of it take place at the pre-zygotic stage,” says the Mittani, “Because it worked.

Then whoever he is, he has control over the time continuum in a way never before seen,” David says with finality.

She,” the Mittani corrects. “The subject is 14 years old at the moment and is named Julia Seyllin. She seems to have turned on us and joined the rebels.

“Do I even need to ask what crossed your mind to create some kind of super-Visionary?” Celling asks.

Naturally, our line of work involves risk, so the ability to view the future would help mitigate those risks.” The Mittani answers. “But that isn’t the only power she gained. As you may know, Protinam predictive powers bleed through into differing types of psychic attacks. In this particular case? Julia has been known to exhibit pyrokinesis.

Celling takes a moment to process this. “Oh, cra-”

The shop blows up.

A bright red fireball explodes from the building. It is torn apart. Charred pieces of wood are thrown all over the dock and smoke fills the air. The soldiers are knocked to their feet and are in disarray.

Just as everyone regains their senses, the ground seems to lurch. Celling is pressed to his knees as if a massive weight was pressing down on him. He looks at Fansworth and Fansworth glances back as he reaches the same conclusion. “Andantesite!”

What do you do? Accepting any and all suggestions.

Well, whatever.

"Fansworth, NOW would be a good time to fire those masers!" shouts Celling.

"We need a target! They take half a second of concentrated firing to work, we can't just fire randomly!"

What do you tell him to do?
A: Fire blindly in some direction (give the direction)
B: Hold them until we can see target.

Feel free to ask for more information to make your decision.

"David, can you check this at all?"

"The rebels are most certainly still there, Celling, they are right on the dock. Right where you are."

The water begins to pool away from the dock due to the heightened gravity. You can't see anything in the smoking remains of the shop.

"But can you see anything about the Andantesite? Say, if it were definitely inside the building, where is it most probable it would be? If it were under the docks, where would it probably be?
Actually, can anyone see how the curve of the water is? Maybe we can calculate the center of the distortion!"
