Based on an idea I came up with in the Gaming Block Thread, this game is about people in a generic fantasy setting who have, by whatever means, come into possession of magic scrolls that allow them to communicate with others in the world who also have such scrolls (it doesn't have to be a scroll; it could be like a stone tablet or special spell they cast or something, but the majority of users connect via scroll). Through these means of communication, users (a.k.a. you, the players) can recruit new party members, find and distribute quests, arrange to buy and sell goods or services, find love, ask for advice, bitch about your fellow party members, or whatever else you can think of.
There are just a few rules:
- All posts should be in-character. If you need to say something Out of Character, please use spoiler tags or at least standard OOC formatting ((O.O.C.))
- As much as possible, try not to simply negate what other people say. "Yes, and..." as much as possible. If you really don't like an idea someone put forth, you should discuss it with them OOC and try to reach a consensus.
- Please ask if if people are okay with it before creating major world-wide threats. People should be able to play and do what they want,
but, when you create something that absolutely everyone has to deal with, that imposes on them. You don't necessarily need to have total consensus, but at you should at least have more yes's than no's before unleashing a world-devouring vortex or something.
Also,in case you need them, here are some random generators. I'll link to dungeon name generators, but they all have other good generators elsewhere on their respective sites:
- Fantasy Name Generators has over 1000 name generators of various kinds, so, if you're looking for a certain kind of generator, it's a pretty good place to check
- donjon has a lot of great DMing tools, including generators,
though you might have to check through the dropdown menus, since they're not all listed on the sidebar - Seventh Sanctum has a few weird generators on it, and sometimes weird results, but that's not always a bad thing
