Hallbjorn patted Sverrand on the shoulder. While he found the man's ideals somewhat at odds with his own the sentiment of burying the dead he agreed with.
"If it makes you feel better, the cold should mean that the bodies should be mostly fine when we go back out. And eating something first is advisable anyway, otherwise you'll just drop dead in the middle of work."

[SOLDIER First]

”I’m not so weak that I’d let a little bit of hunger kill me, Hallbjorn. But I see your point. Food first.”

[Gaterhyme]

Mydis hung back a bit once they arrived, listening to the others move around in the hall, picking up the scent of food and what sounded like Kard's efforts at consuming everything in sight.

"Could you get me a plate as well, Sverrand?"

Kard paused for a moment at Sverrand's display of gratitude to stare at the heavily armored man as if he'd grown a second head. Then he returned to stuffing his face.

[SOLDIER First]

Sverrand makes no comment on Kard’s surprise and gives Mydis a simple ”Yes.” to her request. He returns shortly holding two identical plates piled high with dried meats, with some cheeses and other things added almost as an afterthought. One is presented to Mydis.

”Here. Eat up.”

[Gaterhyme]

Mydis's smile grew wide as she accepted the plate.

"Aw, thanks," she said, patting Sverrand on the cheek with the hand not holding the plate. "You're the best."

That was nice of him - and it just went to show that it was occasionally worth trying to take advantage of an acquiescing mood.

[SOLDIER First]

”You’re welcome, but...” Sverrand moves her hand away and rubs at his cheek. ”Why are you touching me...? Is there something on my face?”

[Gaterhyme]

Her smile grew even wider.

"Maybe it's because I can?... You should think it over while you eat, Sverrand."

And with that, Mydis began making her way to a seat.

[SOLDIER First]

Sverrand silently watches her leave, brow knitted together. He gives a final rub to whatever must have been on his cheek and begins attending to his own food.

I just don’t understand that woman sometimes.

Matt also got two plates - one a balanced amount of different foods, and one consisting mostly of what bread and fruits were available. He handed the balanced plate to Malthe.

"Here you go, little brother."

He then found a place to sit and started in on his own food.

Leon had smouldered for a few more minutes after the battle was over and the cheeky magic-wielder had disappeared, but without the means to attack the real troublemaker, he had to calm down and wait for a future opportunity to take revenge.

"I'm not too hungry, I've eaten some already." he commented. His pegasus' saddlebags had gotten lighter, though, and he went about picking up some extra supplies.

Malthe accepted the food with little fanfare

"Thank you."

Picking through the food, eating small chunks at a time, Malthe let his eyes dart around the damaged fort taking in the damage on the walls. Something seemed... wrong about the whole situation, even considering the mage the party had faced earlier. No explanation for the damage at all, and yet seemingly two survivours?

"Is it just me or does something seem... off about the whole situation?"

[SOLDIER First]

Sverrand silently watches her leave, brow knitted together. He gives a final rub to whatever must have been on his cheek and begins attending to his own food...

...at a table containing Selkie. He gives her a nod of greeting.

”Selkie. It’s been some time since we spoke, hasn’t it?” he asks. Then, as if to dispel the illusion that he was capable of normal conversation, Sverrand adds, ”You did well in the battle today. I was impressed.”
