I don't believe I have encountered a PW tpk since I joined, even in ER, though I know they existed before.

He's graduated to straight up game murder instead.

Kill the game, kill the characters. Brutally effective.

9s didn't result in TPKs, but they generally resulted in large quantities of Ks for various non HMRC personnel.

Aaaaanyways. the only way I can think of to stop Simon killing us all is to gloriously charge forward into his line of fire as soon as the doors open. My character is a coward, however, and is unlikely to do that. Simon did say that if anyone was in front of him he wouldn't fire (and for all we know he accidentally loaded AP or something, since he's not as good a loader as Toby) so that's the only way I can think of to guarantee a non TPK. Maybe the bunker can withstand the shot, but the over pressure might knock us out, or the shrapnel might ricochet and kill us... Etc. etc.

Bob could ask to shoot the gun. Also, does no one have grenades? Specifically flash (though i don't know how prevalent those were in WWII), but those seem better options for tossing through the door once it opens. If we went frag, less explosive charge, and most of the lethality would be from shrapnel. Cave ins would be unlikely, I think, since this is probably something akin to a reinforced bunker. Flash grenades would give us a chance to see what's on the other side while they're blinded?

And by God, was she going to use it.

Flashbangs were invented well after WW2. I agree that fragging and clearing is the better solution, but again, we have to convince Simon of that.

All we need to do for Simon to not shoot is for someone to stand in front of the tank. But I don't know that IC.

Just FYI:

Quote
19:43] Mr.Bones: he's at -4 life, -6 is dead. So he's in bad shape and given the nature of it he's not gonna recover much even if you get him back up to +0 hp. But you can keep him alive and if he survives the rest of the mission, we can get him some prosthetic limbs.
[19:44] Mr.Bones: Best bet is probably stabilize him as best you can and put him in the tank. He has no legs, effectively, but he can still fire a gun. Assuming doesn't bleed out

No kaboom :(
Simon rolled a 5 on common sense. What can you do?

It's weird when a major success results in such an RTD failure, isn't it?

I'm happy that even PW sees Simon firing in such an enclosed space as a critical failure.
