Try out ye key on the North door.  If it works, head into the next room.  If it doesn't work, try the other door.

You try both doors, the north first and the East second. Neither open with the key. In fact the key doesn't even fit in either lock; it is too big.

Knock on the door and ask outloud if they can open the door since I'm in a hurry. If it doesn't open, try to shove my way through the walls or shooting them until they collapse.

None of this works. Though when you try to destroy the wall you feel a soul chilling sense of dread like someone pressed the barrel of a gun to the back of your head.

Look for clues regarding the hourglass. Ponder it's significance, in light of both the religious imagery from the doors, and the trappy nature of this building. Try to reason out what kind of effect rotating it might activate, aside from the obvious one of "Metal filings in bottom are now in top, seek bottom, gravity assisted."

You sling the rifle back over your shoulder, teeter a bit as it threatens to unbalance you, and then walk forward into the woods. As soon as you pass through the boundary of the first trees you feel something very different here. A sort of coolness that makes your skin crawl, like the feeling of stepping in something gross and unknown. The trees look normal, about normal size, deciduous, more gray than normal. Everything was more gray than normal, borderline monochrome. The air feels stale and heavy. There's no sound other than the crunch and crack as you walk through the weeds and fallen pine needles. You feel both very alone and very much not alone.

Yeah, I'm out.  This game is just too much of a chore, and unfun.  It doesn't have any of the appeal of Perplexicon, because powerful words are a rare resource which means they're best conserved, and creativity is rendered pointless by enchantment, along with mundane force being extremely effective.  The setting is kinda interesting, but the system as written forces us into interacting with it in a very brutal and uninteresting way.  The PvP, as I'm told it exists, is entirely about blocking and restricting opponents, rather than interacting with them.  There's just nothing that appeals to me anymore about it, beyond the limited RP, which is now dead due to me and Egan both being gone.  I really want to enjoy this game, but I can't.

So we're down to pretty much the last scraps here.

I can complete the current puzzle dungeon or not, depending on your desires, but I think this will end after that, or before if you don't want to continue it.

After all once this ends I can set up another game that people might be more interested in. Your choice; I know several of you are still interested but...the game never quite became what I wanted it to.

Much more of a perplexicon styled team-based PvP, probably.

Problem is, most missions were too involved to make PvP a major aspect, since each mission takes so long. if gaining territory had been simpler, the focus could have shifted. But the game turned into a perplexicon styled team based adventure instead.

Also, the player drop out rate was rather prohibitive for what the game was designed for.

In any case, maybe I should just do Mad Max. I do have that half done car battle system I posted a while back. Just do a death race. Maybe with magic?

I have no interest in that system at all.

Nor the other one you said you were thinking about replacing this with. The kind of game escapes me at the moment. Oh1 Godhood through murder and something something.

I guess when this dies I'll take everyone up on the Cabal invitation.

If you want nomads, start with nomads.

I'd also recommend encouraging PvP by having a list of a small number of targets each mission set.. if two groups pick the same target, bam, PvP.
