Wyvern - roguelike-MUD
« on: September 21, 2017, 03:05:47 pm »

Hi ho!

I've just discovered very unusual game: Wyvern - roguelike-MUD; it's something in the middle of this two genres; inspired by NetHack, Crossfire & other oldschool games. It's pretty deep game with rich world, much deeper than modern MMORPGs ;)

Currently it works @ mobiles - Android/iOS. PC client comming soon, right now to play at PC you have to use Android emulator; I recommend MEMU ( http://www.memuplay.com/ ) for Windows and Anbox ( https://anbox.io/ ) for Linux).

This is my 1st time in Wyvern, first impressions:

And it's my second adventure... And it's not what I've expected! This game is even better than I first thought! Mind-blowing deeeeep...

Hope to see your feedback! :D

This used to be my favourite RPG (and the start of my naga fetish). I was overjoyed for about 1 minute after hearing the game'd been re-released, but then rather crestfallen when I immediately learned it was cellphone-only :(

Thanks!!

Edit: Oh lol it's you. Your youtube channel's where I heard about the new Wyvern release :D

I played it a ton back when I was in middle school.  Played it again for a while on MEMU.  if you use the emulator it's almost identical to the old PC control scheme.

It hasn't aged perfectly, wonky writing and bad quest design abounds, but it's still really fun.

If you're familiar with the old game, all the wizards are gone and much of their content is probably going to be replaced.  I missed most of the serious wizard drama but I remember that many of them were real dicks, Binyamin Arilou and Teshuvah being the worst offenders.
