They certainly are. They've popped up in my legends before every once in a while (maybe I just have more experience with them because I go through worlds like chewing gum).

I've heard of somebody who genned a world with an inordinate amount of megabeasts, and when he embarked on an evil biome he was immediately ambushed by zombie hydras. Related perhaps?

I've gotten a few of those before, too.  I always assumed that they died during world gen, and were resurrected by an evil biome.

This occurs if the game plops the megabeast's lair in an evil biome.

Oddly enough I've only seen it in dragon... A thralled dragon is among the most dangerous things in the world.

I once had a zombie dragon megabeast, it was pretty cool. ever actually saw it in game though (only in legends).

I have also encountered a zombie alligator man in a sewer in a city.

I've yet to see an undead Titan from worldgen, but one fort of mine got attacked by a Swamp Titan spider that reanimated almost immediately. I was rather disappointed that it could no longer shoot webs.

Reanimated dragons can still breathe fire, which is an incredibly Fun experience. A thralled dragon is quite the thing to see alright, but I've never found thralled megabeasts from worldgen, that's only happened at more or less my instigation.

I've outright called DFhack's teleport script to forcibly lock up an invading necromancer with a hydra corpse, but the bastard never had any interest in a zombified hydra minion, to my immense displeasure.

Has anyone ever found a named zombie body part in legends? I know that reanimated body parts can earn names (and thus notability) if they score enough kills, but I've never seen worldgen yield one.

A long time ago I had a skeletal sperm whale come up from the ocean, it killed my fort since I had restricted myself from using cage traps. Mind you this was before you could pulp undeads so it was basically unstoppable. While it wasnt a megabeast it sure had the power of one. Onvoiusly when you settle innevil biomes a small part of you hopes for things like this to happen. Undead dragons, ogres and whatnot.

Yes. Just like a normal dragon, except much, much worse.

Wait, can zombie dragons breathe fire? I'm not sure.

Well I suppose one could always try to encase it in obsidian.. But setting up such a feat requires a bit of preparation, and good timing.
