Is there a update?If so how do I tell what version I have and how do I update it?Also I only have been playing DF for a year or two.

I don't know where you found that version number, but it's not a version of DF. You can find the current version of DF at http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/, currently 0.43.05. The DF version you have will be displayed in the lower right corner of the main menu when you start DF.

I think that is your Text Will Be Text (TWBT) version, not DF version.
