Please Adjust the Value of Textiles.
« on: October 19, 2017, 03:29:37 pm »

Plant based cloth is easier to produce and process than animal based cloth, and animal based cloth easier to produce and process than silk cloth.

Even in the case of normal-sized cave spiders, the bite causes wooziness that impacts productivity. Neither plants nor yarn animals do this.

By all sense, plant cloth should be the least valuable, but is the most valuable excepting GCS silk, which is only twice the value.

It would be immensely helpful if the most valuable plant cloth was still less valuable than animal cloth, and the most valuable animal cloth still not as valuable as the least valuable silk, to better represent the various levels of difficulty in manufacturing each cloth type.

If you do address this, if you could use the same pass to fix the stockpile behaviour for yarn, hair, and hair thread, the hospital chest behavior for hair thread, and potentially allow hair thread to be woven into cloth, that would be immensely helpful and altogether would completely sort out all issues with the textile industry.

Thank you!

Perhaps, the plant based cloth is lovely, soft, comfortable, and great looking, while the spider silk is creepy and has a horrible colour that is difficult to mask with dye, so only the insane rarity of GCS silk is enough to push its price past the more desirable cotton.

Perhaps Toady just wasn't paying much attention when he set the cloth values.
