Why can't I retire on player-made sites?
« on: October 18, 2017, 04:56:57 am »

Title. I want to retire my wolfman adventurer, due to the non-abundance of animal men to recruit.

Adventurer sites?
Designate an area as a meadhall then claim it. Now you can retire.

If you meant fortresses, you should be able to just retire. Helps to join the fortress first if your want your adventurer to be useful when you play the fortress again.

Claim? As in, shout that out into the forest?

It crashes when I try to designate the hall.

you should be able to mark a zone out, make the location a mountain hall  then walk towards that spot and claim it via talking to no one.
the bogeymen only come out at night if you don't build a roof over your head first, by doing so you can probably go back to building safely for the rest of the night.... you still have to deal with animal/bandit/monster ambushes though.

also if your an outsider this probably Can't be done as some weird reason you need to be part of a civ to claim a site.
and your best bet for retiring at a player fort is to talk to the leader and try to join. probably level up your barding or get famous enough through quests should probably work.

Using any mods? TWBT?

Only homebrew mods. Carefully tested to be bug-free.

Works for everyone else. Presumably you're using 43.05?

Yes.
If you can reproduce the the crash everytime, upload a save to dffd, then make a bug report.
