Huh. It also still says that there is blood spatter on its head, when it has none.

I checked dwarf-portrait and it had a damn face on its body. Modding accident?

I think I remember reading somewhere that snakes can survive for a few minutes after getting their heads cut off, but I really don't want to look it up to make sure...

EDIT: Found the page I found the snake-decapitation thing on. WARNING: Nightmare fuel. Seriously. Don't read it if you plan on sleeping soon.

Shouldnt be possible in df with the way body parts are handled, even if its a zombie since snakes dont have grasping parts either. bug report

This happens sometimes. The game only checks whether a creature should die when necessary; sometimes the game doesn't make a check when it's supposed to and the creature remains alive until the next check is made. Just wait for it to bleed out.

The closest thing Bay12 has to a flamewar is an argument over philosophy that slowly transitioned to an argument about quantum mechanics.

The trick is to only make predictions semi-seriously.  That way, I don't have a 98% failure rate. I have a 98% sarcasm rate.

Were there any reanimating influences in the area?

No. Like I said, it had a face on its body.

This only makes me think of the commentators from Madworld on the Wii. I'm now trying to imagine two random dwarves commentating this type of stuff in-game.

"Did you know an anaconda can live for a week without its head?"
"Big deal, I've gone 10 years without any head!"
