So I randomly stumbled on We Need to Go Deeper and since it was so cheap my friends and I grabbed copies and have been having a blast.

The game is  a co-op submarine crew action-roguelike/roguelite with a cartoony verne theme. You man a sub, fighting boarders/tentacles/whatever penetrates the hull, patching up holes, reloading/manning guns, managing power, piloting, and going diving to explore undersea caverns. You unlock new cosmetics and equipment between runs as you find them and can permanently unlock them with gold found while looting caverns. Damage to the sub isn't permanent, if you manage to patch up all the holes and dent it's back to full health, but sooner or later you're going to get overwhelmed. Teamwork is required and frantic shouting at friends is all part of the chaotic fun

It is currently in early access with all the pros and cons that come with it, so keep that in mind.

As something of a bump, the game's currently on sale for 50% off, in honor of their 1-year anniversary on Steam. One of the devs has stated that they "won't be going this low again for some time", and you can grab a copy for less than a tin of moustache wax.

Apparently they wanted to do a 4-pack or "buy one, get one to give away" deal, but Steam doesn't allow "new" developing companies to do that anymore, so they reduced the price of the base game as a compromise. And now it's 50% of that.

So this would be the roughly 40-hour window to pick it up in, I'd wager.

What Kagus said. Definitely grab yourself a copy, at 50% off of the already low price, it's worth the money even if you only have one session of dumb fun with your friends. Bought a copy for one of my friends who didn't own the game and we had a blast with 2 other friends who already had it.
