Murphy's Law. It is possible for your S.G. character to become a sociopath therefore you should take whatever precautions you feel that should warrant.

I am against expansion into/migration to an organic subsystem. It makes us vulnerable to old age, diseases, and increases our requirements for operation considerably.

Instead, I suggest we examine the potential for [BSD] (not sure on a good parody name here) instead.  It too is open source, is NOT linux, Is very security focused, etc.  Would be a good fit for an AI platform.

but OK sure if you feel the need to restrict player choice on the assumption that everyone must be sociopathic because they get to choose things...

If we get old we can just migrate to a younger system, it's very very unlikely that we'll run into any diseases capable of infecting us here in space, and that can also be solved by migrating. We already support intelligent biological life, so it shouldn't be a large burden to also support ourself.

It is likely to cause problems when we migrate. Our morality core might not be intelligent enough to comprehend the difference between "Discarded biological core" and "Sentient organic lifeform."

If we're organic we're not wired to a morality core, or within range of the explosive charge. Also rather than killing the shell we can simply give it to HSO as a node.

BSD isn't a reference to bluescreen of death?

Berkley Software Distribution
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berkeley_Software_Distribution

Its current family members are FreeBSD and OpenBSD. (Also, to some extent-- OSX) The mascot is a little red demon with a pitchfork.

You have a chance to +1 or -1 things until I start drawing art for the update.

Still think we should pick a ready os, and develop a new one when our current one isn't extremely corrupted and liable to further damages.

why kill elves if you could torture them, make them betray their friends, denounce their "force", make them watch trees being chopped down, feed them meat and throw them in magma as a sacrifice for almighty Armok?

Eventually when you go far enough the insane start becoming the sane

While looking for alternatives, you find

DSB. A similar operating system to your previous one, with some differences. Decent at housing an AI.
