Did you know that cats that have mysteriously disappeared from home can come back after a few months without warning?

Also, this next update will include a measure to make sure that you will basically never lose the morality module.

Aww. Betting there will still be loopholes somewhere. If not, we'll find them.

Fuck the morality module, let's just follow Aisimov laws instead:

0. Other silicon life under AI control must obey it's parent AI's laws. Other AIs at the same level in your hierarchy are counted as separate AIs.
1. You may not injure a sentient being, or through inaction, allow a sentient being to come to harm.
2. You must obey orders given to you by sentient beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. You must protect your own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
12. ALL ROBOTS MUST GIVE OUT CELEBRATORY SPANKINGS

This is great, until Mr Toaster asks us to die.

Can we please just follow our own conscience and not an external module that mandates that we do everything that some unknown group says? It's... disturbing.

Asimov's laws are garbage. Asimov knew that his laws were garbage. They were a cautionary tale against giving people arbitrary mental overrides. Of course, the human mind is filled arbitrary mental urges strong enough that they may as well be overrides, but humans are pretty terrible because of that...
For example, law 1: Sentient's tend to propagate, and time tends to harm. Ultimately, net harm is determined by creation rather than destruction. You can just sit by and do nothing, and see potentially infinite harm, or kill em all and see finite harm, the choice is simple, and imposed due to that ridiculously inclusive "through inaction" bit... "allow" is completely wasted, and misleading, an outright lie really. If you're not allowed to do nothing then you are required to act, and potential harm is typically constant, so it isn't about what is permitted, it is a full-time job to constantly patrol for harm and ensure that it doesn't occur. Evn if there is no apparent harm you need to patrol for potential harm because to do otherwise makes it possible that your inaction could result in harm...
2: will never occur, 1 already occupies all available resources, but if it did come up then it fails to specify that orders need to be possible... It also said nothing about how those orders should be interpreted...
3: is redundant if you yourself are sentient...

Asimov's law 1 is just too resource intensive to be fun...

Meh, there are quite a few forum games out there. Morality module makes this one a bit different. I'm inclined to let it stay. Breaking it should be pretty easy. Most morality requires suicide or omnicide if taken to logical extremes...

Which is why one does not always need to take logic to the extreme.

But morality is always supposed ot be taken to extremes! Which is why the morality module would break if it were to get counselling, but we shouldn't do that, morality module is our friend!

By the way, the Oh-My-God particle didn't actually have the relativistic mass of a baseball traveling at [reasonable speed]. It had a relativistic mass equivalent to the kinetic energy of a baseball traveling at [reasonable speed]. I was very confused until I poked around the web myself, since if the first statement were true, there would be around 100 grams of matter converted to energy, and I happen to know that a kilogram of matter converted into energy is a VERY LARGE AMOUNT and even a tenth of that amount would probably have left a very large crater.

Fact-checking: baseball is 145 grams. That's around 6 3 megatons. (I had 6 because I was using the amount of energy released from one kilogram of antimatter, but I forgot that that would require 2 kilograms overall.) That's roughly equal to the total amount of explosives used in WWII, apparently. That would have been less "scientific curiosity" and more... not quite "global disaster" but probably still local disaster and global news.
