Hey friends, I've been toiling away at a brand new game for a bit and posting some caps in the "what're you working on" thread in Creative Projects, and it's come about far enough that some people are getting understandably curious.
It's Pimiko Plus! A bite-sized market and trade simulator where you trade 12 types of goods between several markets in a post-apocalypse that the game world's currently clawing its way out of.The concept of the economy sim isn't too different from the classic DOS game
Drug Wars, in that you get a relatively simple sim and a 30 turn limit to make as much money as possible. There are some ways that the concept has been expanded and spit-shined in Pimiko Plus, however!
- The state of a given market is semi-deterministic—markets have trends on all goods, which keeps prices adherent to a rough cycle instead of randomly costing a lot or very little.
- There is a discrete and limited amount of goods in the game world at any given time. Goods can enter the market during a boom, but generally this favours buying plentiful goods for cheap in one market and heading out to a remote farm village like Tengriygorod to sell them where they're not available (if there's enough demand...)
- Improved random events. There's no officer hardass here, but you can still be attacked by raiders or run into wandering merchants (and, perhaps if you're evil enough, punch said merchant's head off his shoulders with a Blast Knuckle!)
- Weird items and a nice handful of weapons. Weapons are classified as single-projectile (one roll for all attack dice) or multi-projectile (each die is a separate attack)
- Replay bonuses. You're scored for every 30-week game on turn 31, and might be rewarded with tokens you can use to buy more character classes for Ruho.
- Scrounger, Junker, Raider, and Doctor classes. Each of them have different ways of getting through the game's encounters, such as the doctor being unable to carry certain weapons in return for being able to patch up a raider to avoid a conflict.
- A nice, colourful PDF manual
This game has been the biggest sink for my time lately, so I hope you enjoy it when it releases! As of this writing, most of the game is done aside from the bonus/unlockables integration and portions of the random encounters.
