One of my favourites too. Doesn’t beat Plasma Burst 2 though

Lets use the ancient naval art of training war parrots. No one will realize they have been boarded by space war parrots until it is to late!
You can fake being able to run on water. You can't fake looking cool when you break your foot on a door and hit your head on the floor.

Antichamber is the weirdest game there is.

It will give you headaches until you adapt to the non-euclidean geometry, though.

There are tonnes of classic games that are just weird in general.

Albion - https://www.gog.com/game/albion Sci-fantasy story with a perspective that swaps between first person and over the head console style isometric. Controls almost entire with the mouse, but with numpad controls for some of it.

Anachronox - http://store.steampowered.com/app/242940/Anachronox/ Super interesting Sci-fi J-style RPG made by a western studio. Lots of strange camera tricks that work with aplomb to set the world into feeling like something that's just entirely off the chains.

Darklands - https://www.gog.com/game/darklands One of my all time favorite classics, just the character creation is likely to confuse the fuck out of a lot of people. But it stands up to the test of time as one of the more complex games, and one of the games that a lot of modern complex games generally reference as a grounding post, or an inspiration for their development.

Elder Scrolls Morrowind - https://www.gog.com/game/the_elder_scrolls_iii_morrowind_goty_edition Aesthetic is just weird here. Sent from an unknown land to the island of Morrowind, you explore through environments that are at once strange and familiar. From swamps too mushroom forests, to giant mushroom towers that require spells and magic to navigate because they are run by assholes. Seriously was one of my favorite games as a kid give it a try. And if you use the graphics extender, set the cell distance to something lower than 4. Morrowind is actually best if you can't see what's coming from 10 cells away.

Neverwinter Nights 2 Mask of the Betrayer  Just play it, no spoilers, beyond that it picks up after the end, but is almost totally disconnected from Neverwinter Nights 2's Original Campaign. It's weird, but one of the few games that has done the themes it has right.

In modern games.

SOMA - No spoilers for this one again. Google it up, play it, it's crazy good, as an adventure game. It's themes are harsh, scary and horribly amazing at making you think. Your own as in the player playing the game's mortality will be brought into question.

Tacoma - The other side to SOMA's creepyness. Brighter, more simple but still examining a lot of the same themes. An art piece but an amazingly structured, and strange one. Another that's just best to jump in and play.

I think that's enough.

Before Hotline Miami, cactusquid made some really weird freeware stuff. Warning, may cause headaches, nausea and/or seizures (one of the games is literally called SeizureDome). The one that got me interested in his stuff was Mondo Medicals.

I'd also point to Pathologic, although that's more of a creepy and a bit meta thing rather than downright weird. From the same people there's The Void, which is more out there and isn't particularly upfront about its game mechanics, but I could never get into it.

Don't know how underground you want to go, but Ludum Dare 39 is going on right now.  It's the most prestigious game jam and ends up prototyping some of the more experimental indy games out there.  You could probably beat the gaming journos to discovering some of the better stuff if you wanted.

One of my favourite "weird games" is probably Cubivore. It's for Gamecube, though, so would probably have to be emulated.

You play as an animal made of boxes that rips limbs off other animals made of boxes and eats them to become more attractive to female box-animals so you can mate and have babies with more limbs than you.

Inside

It's a side-scrolling dark atmospheric puzzle game.

Little Nightmares

It's another side-scrolling dark atmospheric minimalist puzzle game.

My favorite weird game was for the PS2 I think. It was called seek and destroy, and you played as a tank in part of a war effort with other tanks. This is not like war thunder. Yo had oodles of odd weapons, dozens of tanks you can play as with different stats and attributes, for instance some were self propelled guns and didnt have proper turrets, but could attach bigger weapons. Secondary weapons were things like giant chainsaws you could ram opponents with.

Ustxu Iceraped the Frigid Crystal of Slaughter was a glacier titan. It was the only one of its kind. A gigantic feathered carp composed of crystal glass. It has five mouths full of treacherous teeth, enormous clear wings, and ferocious blue eyes. Beware its icy breath! Ustxu was associated with oceans, glaciers, boats, and murder.

This would definitely qualify, if you are willing to spend the $10:

I clicked on this, thinking it was some how inspired or related to Roger Wilco, the famous space janitor. And its nothing at all a like.

There was one f2p game I think, ages ago which I can't remember the name of, but it was essentially PvP tetris of sorts. You played as this drop of liquid or something and had a field into which various parts would fall, stuff like wheels, tracks, armor, guns, drills, whatevers and you could tag certain parts or maybe even move them around, which would lock them down onto this little vehicle you were building on your side of the playing field. Once you were satisfied with it you'd sent it on it's merry way to attack the enemy drop, and they would do the same. If they met on the way they'd fight with the stuff they had so there was a lot of countering what the enemy was building too.

I'd love to find it again but the damn thing is so obscure/old that it probably doesn't exist online anymore.

I mean, it probably exists somewhere on the internet. I'll have to try and find it sometime.
