Do trees block vision?
« on: December 10, 2017, 10:08:38 am »

I was just about to build up a little pillbox tower for my marksdwarves to keep a lookout from. The biome I'm in is heavily forested, though, so I'm wondering now if trees will block their vision/range? I mean a lot of the trees will eventually come down, but I'm curious if I need to start cutting now.

Trunks and limbs definitely block vision - you can observe this easily in Adventurer mode. Leaves and small branches, however, appear to be transparent.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.
