Yeah, one of the group that's been pursuing her from almost the start, though they're by now more like unofficial camp followers who are just looking for a good brawl. Don't know if any of them are still after the key or not, and Maya's been following for her own reasons.

Behold the advent of the ultimate black flame, human and devil as one.

Also, if you though Allison was shredded before, you should hang your heads in shame, because frankly this girl is cut like diamond.

More of a Kali/Shiva Destroyer of Worlds vibe IMO.

That depends on if she died or just got banished. Keeping in mind that if it's the former she will be gone for a long, long time.

For some reason I'm expecting a brilliant and terrifying glow of eyes glaring down next panel.

I mean, it's fairly common with reincarnation stories, just usually pretty early on? Whoever gets reincarnated or whatever changes to a native name (or starts with a native one and switches to past-life later).

Stuff that changes names part way through is more rare, especially if it's not just taking on another identity to hide from something or whatever. Still, I've had it come up before. Want to say the next most common is with settings where some culture or another changes names at some traditional point, generally adulthood/rite of passage stuff... or marriage, I guess, which would just be straight up regularly appearing in fiction, actually. After that... maybe amnesia related shenanigans, I'unno.

Basically it happens, but yeah, it's not even remotely common, outside of marriage related stuff. Generally writers don't want to make characters harder to recognize, heh.

E: Or in other words, like, the romance/domestic fiction genres have the market largely cornered on name changing. Which... it's a thing, ha.

Any genre where people assume different identities does have new names, and it can be hard to say if that's the character's "real" name or identity or not. Lord of the Mysteries has the main character taking a new identity (and, thus, name) each book, although he occasionally revives old ones temporarily.

Invincible features "The Immortal" who is exactly what it says on the tin, and at one point was literally Abe Lincoln.
Powers at points goes over the past Walker has with Wolf and various identities therein.
So far Jane Foster has gone from Thor's gf, to cancer patient, to Mighty Thor, to Valkyrie.
Jean Grey was Marvel Girl, Phoenix, Dark Phoenix, back to Jean Grey, and back to Marvel Girl again.
Baxter has a few stories with secretive immortals doing this sort of thing across parts of his Xeelee and Manifold arcs.
Keanu Reeves is apparently a real world example, given all the times he shows up in old as hell paintings, none of which seem to mention him being known as Keanu.
The Doctor is an inversion, same identity/name, different faces.
Dread Pirate Roberts is another.
