My laptop is an msi GE62 2QD Apache Pro. Also I have another question which is a little off topic. But will the Pentiumg4562(I think this is the right one) still be decent?

it will probably take you 10 seconds to read this digital text on your monitor. And then ponder its metaphorical meaning.

God I hope Toady wasn't playing with kernel code for some reason, and I've got a g4620 which works great.

Engraved here is a rendition of an image of the Dwarf Fortress learning curve. All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality. It depicts an obsidian overhang which menaces with spikes of obsidian and tears. Carved on the overhang is an image of Toady One and the players. The players are curled up in a fetal position. Toady One is laughing. The players are burning.
The VectorCurses+1 tileset strikes the square set and the severed part sails off in an arc!

If you could play DF before, you should be able to play DF after; just a bit slower.  Barring unexpected bugs, the security patches are not expected to change anything discernible to "normal" programs like DF.

I've not seen any DF specific benchmarks, nor had time to run them; but most sites tend to be quoting between 5% and 30% slowdown, with the worse numbers almost exclusively for virtualized workloads with significant I/O.  If I had to guess, I'd think that DF isn't usually run on a VM, doesn't do network I/O, much disk I/O, and the screen I/O is fairly low-end; but it hammers the memory I/O pretty hard.  So, probably not worst-case, but not likely to be best-case either.

Since df isn't spamming 20k syscalls a second; there won't me much of an impact.

Edit: calling the mitigation a fix is really stretching it.

I can think of several things to call it, though none fit for polite company...
