My elf died in beastmode

So I caught a elf (Only done this twice) and chained her to the wall.The whole time she was berserk from the time I caught her in the cage (which was conveniently wood) till she was chained to the wall.And till her death which suddenly happened a 2 months later.Why did my elf die?I loved watching her rage in her prison hold.Oh well next spring I'l get another, hey maybe i'l get lucky and catch 2! :P

The death was most likely caused by starvation or thirst. Berserk friendlies suffer from this unless their creature is one that has NO_EAT and NO_DRINK, which Elves do not have, and thus will die after about two months. A captured enemy elf however, one that arrives in siege - that one will not starve or die of thirst, being treated instead as a prisoner of war, thus one can assume is being fed and given water by your Dorfs
