Item token: spawn as artifact on worldgen
« on: January 14, 2018, 09:52:22 am »

A new set of tokens that can be placed on most items (armor/weapon/furniture/tools), and that will make several artifact quality versions of them spawn on worldgen.

Example raw:
Code: [Select]
[ARTIFACT_GEN:MATERIAL:MIN_NUMBER:MAX_NUMBER]
[ARTIFACT_GEN_LANG:LANGUAGE]
[ARTIFACT_GEN_SPHERE:SPHERE]

Full example, as added to short swords:

This would spawn between two and five artifact short swords, created from random metals and named with dwarven words from the fire and fortress spheres. They will be placed in random biomes around the world and can be found by wanderers/adventurers/hunters during their travels.

Keshaninod Rithzâm, "Flamegate the Bulwark", a rose gold short sword.
This is a rose gold short sword. All craftmanship is of the highest quality.
It has existed since the dawn of time.

Kind of the "item Version" of megabeasts if you don't think about it too hard.  :P

Spoiler: Why? (click to show/hide)

Has that ever happened before?

There seems to be certain artifact-like objects created in mythgen back in a time-before-time. Hopefully that'll include the kind of customizability that you're asking for here.

Good idea, especially if others can be created during WorldGen and if good fluff can be generated.
