Roll to Dodge: Acter's Revenge
« on: January 14, 2018, 08:01:49 pm »

We have a Discord!

Spoiler: Current universe (click to show/hide)

It’s over.

You’ve finally done it.

You all have finally messed it up.

You just had to ruin it, didn’t you?

Nobody thought it would happen, but it adds up.

As it turn out, the quiet things are often the most dangerous.

Everyone just assumed that no change this big would come.

You were playing your games and didn’t realize what’s going on.

You’ve burned one too many houses, tormented one too many people.

The straw broke the camel’s back, but woe be to the ones at the bottom.

Now there’s nothing to do but run, because the consequences are going to be chasing you.

There’s literally not that many words to describe how monumental what you’ve done is.

I think that you should be proud. This is actually kinda hard to do.

Usually nobody screws up this bad, but this isn’t usual

This was never supposed to happen, but it did.

It worked for a time but then it didn’t.

And it’s because of you.

You messed it up.

You’ve done it.

You finally made Acter snap.

ROLL TO DODGE:

ACTER'S REVENGE

Exactly what it says on the tin.

There’s a long-standing tradition in god games where Glass plays as a nice-guy god of invention called Acter and everyone else lines up to do dumb stuff around him and mess with the mortals and creation and generally make him the Only Sane Man and piss him off to no end.

Well, guess what, Good Is Not Soft. And you’re about to find that out. Big-time. Time to pay the piper, because you’ve finally pissed Acter off to the degree that he just decides to screw over literally every other god in every other creation in every other universe. Calling all his power from all his instances together, he simply picks a universe and starts there.

And now you, as Acter’s fellow gods that have bothered him one too many times, just have to run for it, don’t you. With the worship of dozens of universes on his side, intellect of thousands of entities mirrored into one, and rage capable of tearing apart the fabric of creation just by itself, you don’t stand a chance. You just have to run, skipping across hundreds of universes that Acter hasn’t seen yet, staying one step ahead of his multifractaled trajectory through the Realmverse, collecting fellow surviving deities along the way.

More information will be posted later. Post if you’re interested!

Well, this reminds me of the time I wanted to play a god who would work with Acter and be a sane duo. But I ended up with not enough time to put it into motion.

Don't worry too much about the one mistake, Smoke Mirrors. Your character was memorable for all the demonology and story writing.

I’m running a game/mechanics test called Fate/Mechanics Test. Feel free to check it out.

This got so much more attention than I expected.

Alright, so I should let you start making sheets at this point.

Here’s the characteristics that define a god in this game. These are constant in any universe that you visit; everything else can change:

Name and description: Just introduce yourself and what you’re a god of!

Alignment: Your alignment on the Age Old Alignment System, which depends on two perpendicular axes of good v.s. evil and law v.s. chaos. Here's a quick refresher. Do bear in mind that this is a “play as bad guy” game; pick something that would reasonably not agree with Acter in the first place. Specifically, you can’t pick Neutral Good as that’s what Acter is.

Primary focus element: Based on the D&D Inner Planes, this is the Classical Element that your god is most proficient in. Choose from Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Creation, or Decay. This affects the output of divine force; how accurate your manipulation of the world can be, and how many instances you can find in which you can act. Specifically, an act that agrees with your primary element gets a +1 to rolls (although there may be other benefits).

Secondary focus element: Choose from the para-elemental and semi-elemental planes of D&D - that is, an intersection of two classical elements. A map is below. An act that agrees with your secondary element gets a +1 to rolls. An act that agrees with both your primary and secondary gets +d2 (a d2 is rolled and added) as well as overshoot protection (anything above a 5 is counted as a 5). This only affects the force that you can bear on actions; it doesn’t affect which actions you can take, like the primary element does.

Symbol: What physical object represents your god and anchors its personality? If it is an animate object, then any 6s you roll near it are re-rolled; if inanimate, the same effect applies to 1s.

I should point out that the "symbol" must be a simple, likely one-word commonplace item. For example:

"Car"
"Tree"
"Fork"
"Gold"
"Eye"
"Torch"
