A few years back, our fortress "Amethyst Learncrystal" was attacked by a werelizard. He was fast and swift so he managed to bite 6 of our dwarves before being forced to run away. The victims were all immediately brought into quarantine inside the fortress' hospital with an unfortunate miner that just wanted to drink from the hospital well. Then suddenly 3 of the victims transformed ! The miner with a fighting prowess unexpected from a civilian, held firmly his pickaxe in his hands and killed them all except one : a child of ten. Pity must have struck his heart, but as we will later learn, Armok is merciless and pity it would have been to strike him there and directly end his life.
The dwarves of Amethyst Learncrystal managed to keep him locked inside the hospital. But the question remained, what should we do with him ? Kill this cursed child and corrupt our conscience until the end of our lives or let him live and risk the contamination to the whole fortress ? No one dared to choose...
That is how, for years and years we kept him in quarantine, no one daring to pull the drawbridge lever in fear of facing a bloodthirsty beast. Every full moon brought his screams followed by a beastly growling. Between his transformations he was playing make believe by himself in the blood soaked hospital. He finally grew an adult in total isolation, his only company being the corpses of the other werelizards.
One day, after a cave in hurt some dwarves, the decision was taken: the hospital was to be reclaimed ! The dwarves waited his transformation to end, then entered the hospital and asked the now grown child to go down to a new place a the bottom of the fortress. However, the adult dwarf just wandered in the fortress to pick up some clothes and later returned on the bed that he occupied his whole life. In front of the other dwarves he then began to play ! For the first time in the history of "Amethyst Learncrystal" an adult dwarf was playing make believe...
The other dwarves stood aghast ! Suddenly, someone took action, the commander of the city guards, the mother of the child herself, ordered her squad to put him down ! They put on their shiny armor and unsheathed their honed weapons. However, they could not brought themselves to perform this awful task, killing a child, even in an adult body. They decided to wait by his bed until he transformed again and then strike.
As soon as the first scales appeared a dwarf raised his spear and plunged it inside the blighted heart ! Seeing her dead child, her mother, the commander, filled with rage and madness, killed the executioner !
No dwarf said a word, but this double murder is still staining the whole fortress...
Today the dead adult-child rest in his final home next to the bed that was all his life...
